I wear Danskos, and though I have problems with them, they're still the only shoes I've found yet where my legs and feet don't feel like lead at the end of the day. That said - I turn my ankle about twice a shift (TERRIBLE ankle support) and have what feels like a perma-bruise on the top of my foot in a place where the unforgiving leather hits my bone. So....I'm not raving, but I am a grudging fan....and still looking for that perfect nursing shoe.
Spent $150 on Danskos and then ended up twisting my ankle so bad had to have surgery. Off work for six weeks and still having terrible foot pain a year and a half later.
New Balance for me. But, I went to a specialized shoe store, got fitted appropriately (had been wearing the wrong size shoes for 15 years) and my foot pain is better.
I just bought a pair of Dansko's, I haven't even worn them to work yet. I thought they were comfy when I tried them on in the store, I wore them around while I did the rest of my shopping. Most of the posts are negative though, I'm wondering if I should return them. Does anybody have anything good to say about Dansko's?
I've tried various nursing shoes and Danskos seem to be the only ones that I keep going back to. They are the only shoes that after a long shift my back doesn't hurt. I found the backless clog more comfortable than the closed back one - I just need the firm arch and foot support that dansko provides. Klogs and Crocs are comfortable, but I find they don't provide enough support for my feet - they work better as non-work shoes for me.
