Sherri Taylor's online workshop

Published

Has anyone completed her ONLINE WORKSHOP? Looking for feedback! I understand she's not an Excelsior grad, but I'm over that at this point.. and what's another $150! I'm taking some of the online ones through Excelsior right now. Those are ok, but I feel as if they could give us more for what we pay.

Please let me know if anyone has experience with this!!

You know, I'm actually rethinking the whole "but she's not an EC grad" thing. I know I've said the same thing in the past, but where a workshop is concerned, I think it's more important to get in there with peers and practice -- that's what really did it for me, I think. And plus the fact that Chancellor's has an excellent (albeit super-expensive) workshop that people rave about, and they have a great pass rate, and I doubt they're EC grads, either. So, yeah. There it is.

Online workshop? Is this a new addition? I saw one mention of it on the EPN (someone asking about it), but I hadn't heard about it.

I've heard random things about it, but never from anyone who has actually taken it. The person that responded to that post in the EPN, attended the actual workshop, and not the online one.

The paperwork/care planning thing is coming along. It's so time consuming to type everything up and send it over to Dr. A. Sometimes she gets back to you right away, and other times it's a few days. If I take this Sherri Taylor online workshop, I think that's what it's mostly geared for, helping with the care plans.

My biggest concern is the labs. I really wish Excelsior had put something together for that. Their orientation video clearly states it is not meant for educational purposes. I've watched all the Youtube's I can find. At this point, I think I need someone to watch me. My nurse friends are great, but I just don't feel like they're 'stickler' enough to evaluate me! So, I may be posting videos soon for peer review!

Erin, I've gotten responses from 2 people; but they took the face to face. They were both very positive though. I need to make a decision quick, because Lynn's is coming near me this weekend (370.00) and the online thing with Sherri is only 147.00. I just don't quite understand what all we'll have access to for the 147.00, like if we'll actually get to see the mock cpnes being performed, and how much careplanning we actually get critiqued because I only need to use it for the 1 month. I'm kinda leaning towards it.

That was the reason Redden and Vanessa and other students posted videos -- they wanted feedback! I think it's a great idea.

Hi, I signed up when Sheri first offered the online workshop at $97 or something like that. Was

actually near my CPNE date when I signed up but didn't feel prepared enough and certainly not

with careplans. Used the materials on the site to review and prepare for about 2 1/2 weeks then

took the CPNE Jan 15-17 and passed. She sends you two careplans a week then you submit them

and she critiques. Several videos from an actual workshop she held very helpful. Long detailed Lab videos

also. Very quick responses to questions also.

Thank you!! You are a saint for responding! I only need it for about a month too! I think I will sign up for it.. I mostly want it for the videos. I have Rob's, but am not overly impressed with the lab video. I'm also not using his mnemonics.

Just an FYI, I posted about taking Lynn's about 2 weeks before my scheduled CPNE date and was advised that I may be disappointed taking it so close to my date as it's geared for those just beginning their studies.

I feel that the Excelsior Orientation video gives a great glimpse of what will be going on during the CPNE. I've only watched it once, but holy crap did my heart rate sky rocket during the entire time! I'm going to start watching either Rob's/Excelsior one each night this week. Thank god the palpitations and tachycardia have stopped the more studying I have done! Still going to the doctor this week for Inderal or Xanax/Ativan.

Have I mentioned how bad I want this to be over?? :lol2: No more working until it's done!!

LOLOL....Girl I told you this is driving me nutts! I'm beginning to get confused on simple stuff now: I'm stuck on the "rationales" part of the careplan. Someone responded to me on EPN, and told me that's the "easy" part. Yeah, I think I'll do the Sherri thing this afternoon. I also need to send at least one care plan in to DR. A or whomever to get some constructive criticism. Question: where are y'all getting the PCS scenarios from to send in the careplans? From the study guide? books? or just making something up?
