Shelton State '16 ADN

Published

I applied for the Fall 2016 nursing program and am currently waiting to get my letter in the mail. I'm applying with 185 points total. Any comments or advice? Anyone else applying?

True. A friend of mines got hera today an she didnt get in she think it was mostly because of All Cs in her science classes. Fingers crossed also. Hoping I get good news tomorrow. I have applied to other schools an got into 1 so far but its a drive. So I just really been hoping to get into a school closer to save me the drive because of having to be there so early for clinicals plus I have kids. Sooo :/ *Fingers Crossed*

Big or small envelope ?

Big or small envelope ?

Acceptance is a packet in a white (approx) 9 x 12 envelope.

Those of you who were accepted: when do we register for actual NUR classes? Orientation on the 26th or when it opens on July 8th?

Specializes in Behavioral Health.

I'm not sure people realize how competitive Shelton is. My sister got a 96 on the TEAS and got 2 Bs and a C and didn't get in last year.

Well my wife registered for classes during Orientation for the LPN program so I guess its the same for this year.

Yeah students from UA, UAB, Bevill and a good bit from Jeff state all apply for it on top of actual Shelton students. I know someone who made a 107 on their teas and had Two A's and a B and didn't get in last year.

And I still havent heard anything and this other school I applied to keep asking me when I am going to confirm and I think i am just going to confirm with them

Call the school. I've seen on here where sometimes it gets lost in the mail and people have to call to check.

I will but I was trying to have "Patience" but you all have yours so if I dont have it by tomorrow when the mail comes Ill just call

Well I didnt get in but Im glad I have a definite spot in another program just didnt want to drive an hour away but everything happens for a reason and this might be whats best for me

Sorry to hear that, but like you said, things happen for a reason. I have almost an hour drive to Shelton (although it is my most convenient option) and I have found that the time in the car can sometimes be a blessing. A friend of mine used her travel time to listen to lectures she recorded in class. I didn't record lectures, but sometimes I did listen to a YouTube lecture, or use the Quizlet app to study...or just use the quiet time to process things in my head. Often, between work, kids, and class schedules, the time in the car was the only time I ever had to myself.
