Princess, I don't know anyone yet who has completed the new curriculum but I'm waiting to hear from someone who has. I really want to know how the FCCA works, that's a computer simulated assessment that has three elements---- Head-to-toe Assessment and Nursing Process, Managing Multiple Patients, and Participating in Interdisciplinary Health Care Teams.
It's going to be interesting to see how this is done via computer, I guess they would give us scenarios and we would have to note all the important elements. For example in Managing Multiple Patients-----Which would the nurse see first? Then we would start with our ABC's.
NCgirl 35 and I think Dream Nurse 2B are under the new curric. they are on their way, we could hit them up for any info when that time comes.
Start with Health Safety, print the content guide by the time you get your evaluation back you can start the enrollment process.

Just read up everything that is on the EC website about the program as it now stands and follow the directions that the school sets forth for you. You should also be able to get some input by using the messaging function on their site, the ECN, and by reading and contributing your questions to yahoo EC groups and people on this site. When you have specific questions, email or call the advisors at the school. They are polite and helpful. Your best sources of info are the EC advisors themselves. Be sure to pass on the info. As more people get involved with the process, there will be more word of mouth info out there, but you must always verify word of mouth by talking directly to EC staff. Good luck.
Thank you soooo veru much!

So far from what I see. Most of the information is the same but they renamed the tests and Broke up NC 3 and Called it Essentials if Nursing Care Chronicity and Essentials in Nursing Care Reproductive. They did add a few new sections. The Focused Clinical Competency should be interesting. I know its computer stimulated but not sure how its managed. I don't even have info on it. I'll keep everyone posted when That time comes. I still have 4 more test to take before I get to that point. Hope to have everything finished by the end of March.
