Sharing non specific clinical scenarios

So I know a lot of us post here looking for advice or opinions on clinical situations. The more I read about this the more dangerous I feel it is becoming. I've heard about many health care professionals trolling these sites watching for providers who do this, then writing them up or even worse firing them. Has anyone else checked out the app Fig. 1? It's like instagram for clinical injuries, and even though they offer was to alter patient identifiers it's still very easy to search the database for specific injuries. I just read an article written by a lawyer who specializes in employment issues and he clearly suggested it is NEVER to post any information about pts. Anyone else have opinions about this?

Under no circumstances would I use such an app. Whenever I tell stories, here or elsewhere, I always let people know that I change things up on purpose to make it nonidentifiable or I talk in generalities to make it nonidentifiable. A person would have to be pretty foolish to post a photo of a patient, identified or not, on some internet website.

Changing names and such is important but I can say I've heard stories of people loosing jobs even still.

Its good to be vague sometimes on here. I agree that sharing too much can single out a nurse if the right person reads the post.

On the other side, I've had people on here get nasty with me for being vague when describing situations. Its nothing personal, just protecting myself.

I was just looking at job ads today and I can name the patients just from the info they give. So I'm sure the right person in the right place at the right time could identify a post even with vague info.
