SFSU nursing supplement

Published

Has anyone done the SFSU nursing supplement yet because I need help. How do I get my SFSU ID? I just submitted my application to the school on tuesday.

for PART II - the pre-req thing

what if my school does not go by pluses/minuses - do i just calculate my GPA as it it were A+ on all the classes I got As in? Do I just leave the lab grade blank because I took the the class together with the lab.

SFSU isn't very specific about how we are suppose to mail in our application. What have you guys done like use a manilla enevelop? is there anything special I need to do?

You will recieve an SFSU ID number once they look over your application. This can take days. That's why you should apply early to get things over with. Once you apply via CSUmentor and you recieved your SFSU ID number, then you can apply to the nursing school.

if your school does not go by pluses or minuses, then you will use the solid grade points: A = 4pts, B = 3pts, C = 2pts, etc.... basically the same points but without the minuses or pluses.

my labs were combined too but i didn't leave them blank. I filled them with letter grades. try not to leave the lab grades blank. after all, they want to have prereqs with labs.

I used a manila envelope to send in my nursing application and my supplementary letters only. nothing else, no transcripts etc...

I also have a question...

In the prerequisite section it has areas for Nutrition and Psychology but it says APO only. I have taken psychology and I got an A in it, do you think I can put that even though I'm not doing the APO?

I don't think so. Good luck with the Nursing apps! They've mailed me that they've recieved it... now all in waiting.

Thanks! Although I don't really have high hopes of getting in for '10. My GPA is average (3.5 for my prereqs so far) Anat & Micro are still in progress. Taking physio next semester. And I don't have much volunteer experience (I did about 20 hours for one month at a hospital). I also don't have any multi-cultural community experience :sniff:

hmm... Are you a native SFSU student?

My stats are 3.8 prereq GPA, 2 prereqs in progress this sem and my last too(anat and physio), and all 3 lanaguage, health, and multi sups.

But you don't need to worry about me. I'm not going to go to SFSU :jester: Fooled Ya! hahaha! I already got accepted to CSU Bakersfield for this Spring 2010, and I love their fast curriculum of only 21 months for a BSN. SFSU was my back up choice, that's why I applied there. I hear that if you don't have a GPA of at least 3.7+ for SFSU, you're chances are slim to none. they take about 80 each year out of 1200+ people who apply. Afterall, I was an SFSU student before, and I did join their nursing student's associataon club thingy as a freshman, so I got the inside scoope:smokin:

Good luck dude! If I get in SFSU, I should give my spot to you.

No, I'm not a native SFSU student. I actually live in socal. But if I get A's in the rest of my classes my prereq GPA will be about 3.75ish. So I thought it'd be worth a shot.. even though I probably won't be one of the 80 people considering my lack of volunteer and community experience. I applied to 4 other CSUs too, but SFSU is my first choice.

congrats on Bakersfield! :yeah: And I would love your SFSU spot! :bowingpur

thanks so much!

by the way, what were the other schools that you applied to? I applied only to Cal State Bakersfield, Humboldt State, and SFSU.

I applied to SFSU, SDSU, long beach, humboldt state, and chico

congrats mike on bakersfields.

congrats mike on bakersfields.

Thanks man :smokin:. Good luck with SFSU too, you'll need for good, especially when there are so much applying with the fierce competition.

I know this thread is a few months old but I hae a quick question...How many days passed before they sent you an ID #. just curious since they want it on the nursing app and the deadline is next week.
