SFSU Fall 2019 Entry Level MSN

Topic for San Francisco State University Fall 2019 Entry Level MSN applicants

Published

I applied to San Francisco State's Fall 2019 Entry Level MSN cohort, and havent seen a topic on it yet, so thought i'd start one! I havent heard anything back yet, but wanted to get a conversation going.

Good luck everyone, and lets try and keep each other updated through the next steps of the process!!

Do you guys know if they're still contacting about interviews? I haven't received anything from them yet and just want to know if it's a lost cause or not.

I just had my interview today, 4/2. They said they'd make a decision 2nd-3rd week of this month. Please post if you hear anything.

I just got an email saying that I got admitted!!!!

Congratulations! I got an invitation as well.

My interview was yesterday 4/2 at 10 AM, I just got an email extending me an offer!

I just got waitlisted as number 15. Are you guys accepting your offers?

Hi! My interview was yesterday, and I received an email stating that I'm #2 on the waitlist. Hoping for the best ? Congrats to all who got in, and hats off to anyone that applied! It's rough out there!

I'm waitlisted as well. I'm so anxious being on the cusp. Is anyone turning down their offer?

I can’t confirm or deny at this point because SFSU was my top choice alongside my other top choice. I got into both, but will let you know within the coming days what I decide to do.

Congrats to those who got accepted and those one the waiting list. Such an accomplishment. To those of you that got accepted, did you guys find the email a bit confusing? It says “recommendation to” accept... so is that an acceptance? I’ve been reading it over 100x because I’m so shocked. ??

The practice of recommending admission is common in large university systems and is often a formality. The Division of Graduate Studies is the office that officially grants offers of admission on behalf of the university. The School of Nursing (or any other graduate program) can only recommend students for admission. When we submitted our applications via CalStateApply, the university already determined we met the minimum standards for admission and is just waiting for the School of Nursing's decision. That was a long, legalese way of saying don't be too stressed out over the e-mail. It's time to be happy and celebrate! Congrats!!

Does anyone know how big the application pool was for this year? And how many they interviewed, vs how many they accept into the cohort?
