Published

Hello, I created this post to see the overall applicant pool applying on Fall 2013 for the academic year 2014-2015. I wanted to open a new thread for those of you who are planning to apply to the BSN prelincensure program to SFSU, to share additional information, support each other, and to see how fierce the competition will be for this upcoming academic year.

For you,

Overall GPA:

Prereq GPA:

TEAS V Score:

Supplemental Criteria:

I haven't finished all of the requirements but when I do I'll update it.

Overall GPA: 3.55

Prereq GPA: 3.44 (still need physio lab and anatomy)

TEAS V Score: N/A (still in progress)

Supplemental Criteria: over 100 hours at SFGH (multi-cultural/health-related work), 3 semesters of Spanish (bilingual), and letter of recommendation (if applicable).

Thank you all and I wish all of you the best of luck, may the odds be ever in your favor!

So, according to an email I just got from the impacted major coordinator, we should be receiving an "admission determination this month". Now we wait some more!

I got the same type of answer from the admissions office. They keep saying May, but that's not relieving any stress...

Hey Megan, I am interested in applying to the sfsu nursing program as for fall 2015. Let me say Congratulation for making it on the waitlist. I was hoping you could please tell me your stats? I just wanted to compare it to mine to see how well Ill fare in comparison. Thanks for your time and looking forward to hearing from you

Hello! Thank you very much for the congratulations, I just hope I get in!

My stats are:

overall: 3.3

Prereq:3.7

Teas: 86.7

Volunteer hours in Labor and delivery and Intensive care unit

Good luck to you!

@meg Thanks! I heard a rumor that SFSU were more inclined to chose applicants from the bay area as oppose to those from Socal. Do you know if there is any truth to this rumor?

I honestly have no idea what their selection process is like and/or what they are looking for. I know of certain applicants who had great stats, lived in the area etc and got a much further ranking on the waitlist, so Im not quite sure. Just know that supplemental criteria is more important than you think. Hours in several hospitals and multicultural experience can be a game changer for your app.

Thanks for the response.

To be honest, I think that they put a lot of emphasis on TEAS sc

Ores. And I was admitted to the University and I'm from San Diego

That's great to know. Thank you. Were you wait listed or accepted from the beginning? If you don't mind, what were your stats, supplemental criteria?

@vi3tbolla

I was accepted -

my overall GPA was 3.44

prereq GPA: 3.4

TEAS: 90

Supplemental: 1,000+ hours work experience as a chiropractic aide, Spanish, and I am an EMT.

also I am from Santa Barbara (southern California). I think they put a lot of emphasis on the TEAS and supplemental criteria, as you can see my GPA isn't the best - I didn't think I would get in!

I just got my acceptance to the university! The ball is rolling.

Just got my acceptance to the University!
