SFSU ABSN 2022

Published

Hello! I haven't seen a thread for sfsu's ABSN 2022 yet so figured I start one.

Can someone please clarify if we need to do the supplemental application on nursingcas? It says that its due on Jan. 15th, but when I reached out to sfsu's nursing department, they told me it is not needed. Have others heard the same as well?

Looking forward to responses! ?

You should try [email protected], which is the email they included in my acceptance email.

Awesome, thank you! I will give it a try ?

Congratulations to all those that made it in or on the waitlist!!

I received my denial email today which I assumed because I don’t have strong work related experience.

For those of you that made it in, would you mind sharing your stats? It will help me know what areas I need to strengthen for next application round. Thanks:)

Hi Sara,

Sorry to hear about the sad news, but I admire the way you can bounce back and shift your focus on working on your apps. I wish you the best of luck and know you’ll be a great nurse someday :))

Stats:

Last 60 units GPA: 3.69

Science GPA: 4.00

TEAS: 97.3%

Healthcare/Volunteer Experience:

- 160+ hours of hospital volunteer

- CNA at a hospital since Dec

Hi everyone, just wanted to share my stats!

Stats:

Undergrad GPA: 3.76

Pre-req GPA: 4.00

TEAS: 87.4%

Healthcare Experience:

- 2 years as Student Midwife

-1.5 years as Case Manager at Planned Parenthood

I've also had issues getting a response from anyone at SFSU via phone or email, which is one of the reasons I decided against attending.

I'll share my stats as well. I attended multiple schools for undergrad--my GPAs were all 3.8-something, but I'm not sure how it averages out. I'm not sure of my prereq GPA either, but I know I got a B in Anatomy.

TEAS: 95.3%

Certificate: medical assistant

Hospital volunteer experience: almost 150 hours (ED and Med-Surg)

Paid healthcare experience: a year of managing COVID-19 testing sites full-time

Other recent volunteer experience: donation tracking and tax receipt creation/sending for a local non-profit

Despite being in contact with them several times in the past few months and trying to reach someone this week, someone finally got back to me today saying they have no record of my application! I have all my email confirmations and everything. Now I’m being bounced back and forth between departments. I’m so disappointed in their communication ?

Oh no, how frustrating! Hopefully, this can be sorted out and you can be considered for admission, especially because it sounds like it was an error on their part.

Should I be worried I still haven’t gotten an email ?

I still haven't received an email either. I have no clue whether I'm rejected, waitlisted, or accepted ?

They said they will be sending out waitlist spots after the 10th. So hopefully you will hear on Monday! Keep the faith ?

Anyone from waitlist hear anything?

I checked the Google sheets of people who have responded to the offers, and it looks like there are 27 people who have accepted their offers. I think they take like 32 people, so there’s probably gonna be 5 more spots unless more people respond today.

I haven’t responded so they’re giving me until tonight to accept the offer, but I’ll be declining.

I just counted and there are actually only 25 "yes" answers on the sheet. Me and 2 others answered "no." Good luck to everyone who is still waiting to hear back-- it looks like 7 more people may be getting in if no one else accepts their offers.

Where is this sheet located?
