SF State Nursing Program, Spring 2017

Published

Hello all! I am new to this forum and had a lot of questions about the application process for nursing school, specifically SF state's program.

I'm planning on applying to their Spring 2017 program, but have heard mixed reviews about it. Is there anyone currently in their nursing program that can shed any light on it? I've heard that it's very difficult to get classes, making it almost impossible to finish the program in the advertised 2 years (takes more like 3 years). I've also heard that due to the high demand of classes and lack of availability, students end up transferring out.

My current GPA is 3.57 and I scored a 81.3% on the TEAS. I also work as a Medical Assistant for 4 years now, ranging in different types of specialties/clinics. My grades aren't as competitive as what I would like it to be, but I'm hoping that my work experience makes up for it. Should I retake my TEAS test to try and get a higher score?

If you're applying to the program, put your stats below!

Thank you all for your input!

Hey everybody, I'm new to this thread. I'm just wondering if anybody applied to the ELMSN program? Or is everybody here for BSN? I have a interview on 11/9 for ELMSN (women's health)...super nervous!

I got an interview as well in two weeks. I applied to their ELM-A program. Not trying to psych myself out about it

ONE MORE DAY!!! I'm excited and nervous as hell!

Its going to rain tomorrow in SF so I hope everybody has a safe drive and wears a raincoat!!

GOODLUCK YALL!!!! :nailbiting::cat:

Hi everyone!

Glad I found this thread. I also got invited for an interview tomorrow! I thought it was going to be a standard one-on-one/panel interview but now I'm doubting that because of all your points of "instructions upon arrival". I was just practicing regular interview questions plus some situational ones.

Btw, are any of you bringing anything like resumes?

Super nervous! haha
