Seton Hall CNL program- Fall 2016

Published

Hey All,

Just wanted to start a thread about Seton Hall direct-masters CNL program. The only thing I could find on this forum dated back to 2014. I'll most likely be attending this program in the fall and I'm reaching out to see if there are any former CNL graduates that could give me some advice. I'm very iffy about the cost of the program.. and also the workload during the first two semesters. Do students end up dropping the program due to poor grades? Is it worth going? I read somewhere that the program is over 100k?

Thanks so much for your help!!

Yes I researched a little more and found that it has to do with the nclex exam pass rates. I won't worry but yes plan B is always a good idea.

Cant wait for orientation!

Yes I heard that they've been on probation for a couple years now and that this years NCLEX-RN exam results would dictate whether they be suspended or not. I also learned that it would affect our cohort or the one next year. I'm not sure but that's what I remember discussing at their open house late last year.

Oh okay, yes so maybe at orientation we can find out some more info regarding this. And hopefully their exam results have improved.

Hmm an rn-bsn around 10k wouldn't be bad, I'll need to research some! I know that the probation doesn't apply to the graduate school at SHU, it's the undergrad programs and they've been saying it for years. So I don't think we'd have to worry about that. I hope there's scholarship money bc I'd love to do this program!

Hi everyone

Any updates?

Hi Mpking88!

I'm just waiting to attend orientation.

I'm just waiting for orientation too and getting all my tests clear for the clinical deadline!

When is the clinical clearance deadline? I haven't received any pertaining to it also do you guys know when the orientation will be held? Thanks

You haven't received anything? What is the email that you gave them? Just last week we were told we are only being emailed via our SHU email addresses from now on, so if you didn't set that up you won't be getting the emails. But the same email they contacted you for the interview and your acceptance is the one they should have been emailing prior. Orientation is the last week of August- two days, Ill have to double check the exact dates. And clinical clearance is due August 9. What is your name? I will look to see if I see it included in all the mass emails we are getting!

Hi Mpking88,

orientation is August 22nd 8:30-3:45 and 23rd 9-3. The email was sent to your school email through outlook. We are also supposed to keep up with blackboard which is where I looked to sign up for castlebranch website where all of our clinical testing requirements are listed and we upload our files there as well. We are allowed to get the titers done anytime, but the drug testing, background check, and physical, and PPD should be closer to August so im doing that the last week of July.

Do you know how to log into your accounts ? I know I had to look around for my info when the time came.

Hi FutrRN85!

I am in the process of completing the requirements listed on castlebranch, so far I have only done the ones towards the bottom since they aren't yearly requirements. I didn't know that the titers didn't have to be done the first week of August, so I can get the ball rolling on those? Also, did you get a form or anything on the drug testing? When I click on it says I should be receiving an email or message with a form included. I have received no such thing yet!

Also, what are you uploading to show as your documentation, some of those vaccines and tests I had done YEARS ago! I got a copy of my records with all my vaccines on it, should I scan that and upload that?
