Seton Austin residency summer 2019 cohort

Published

Anyone applying to seton residency program? UT Austin? Williamson?

Hello, I'm interested in the October/Fall cohort. Should I attend the February 22 open house? Or do you think that would be waste of their time and mine? I am wondering if I would even be able to speak with anyone about the Fall. My problem is that I am very interested but I will be done with my BSN program at the end of July and I have a family. The earlier I can get a job lined up, the easier it will be to line up housing and get the kids set up for school since we have to relocate from out of town.

Hi Kenya, I would wait on attending the residency until later. Usually they have their Open House for the cohort to which they are hiring for. So, this particular open house is for those who will graduate in time to take their NCLEX before June 30 of this year. They will have another open house roughly around the time this cohort starts (June/July-ish), which will be for the October Cohort.

Ok, thanks calcgirl314! I thought it would be rather proactive but then I was thinking they may not have anything to discuss with me since I can't start until the Fall. Makes sense.

You could but you wouldn’t be offered an interview or anything, since the deadline or nclex is June 29th. They should have another open house for that time frame

FYI St. David’s also has an RN mixer coming up on 3/8/19 from 3-6 pm. This is the first I’ve heard that they’ve had one.

Hey! I just applied for a few positions. I'm not sure if I will attend the Open House, because I'm in Houston and it's during class. Do y'all know how long it usually takes to hear back?

I’ve heard it can take a while about 3-4 weeks

I heard there were over 400 people. Crazy!! I was able to see who I wanted, but just barely.

Yeah same i didn’t really get like an actual interview on the spot though. I really hope they call me lol

I went to the open house today and it was pretty hectic. So many people applying from all over the place. Hopefully I'll get a call soon!

I wish I would’ve gotten an on the spot interview too. I think, just getting the names of the unit managers and sending out a personalized email will help. Time will tell though!! I’m going to continue to have hopeful thinking, but at this point I need to focus on finishing up my school work.
