Time for another vent thread. Today's topic is: "You're here for what? Seriously!?!?!"
32y/o m, hx htn, vs wnl, cc is "chest pain for about 1 second 4 hours ago", no current complaints.
Crossed my mind to give him a forearm shiver. Then he'd have something to complain about...
A husband and wife with 3 children in tow (one being a small infant). The husband and wife both checked in with "heart palpitations after taking unknown diet pills 3 hours ago."
They had gone to some hotel convention selling some weightloss pills. They took the samples, couldn't tell me what they were called or the
brand. Thankfully no actual medical problems or history.
Needless to say full cardiac work up for both. Everything negative.

Yep...picked them up in hospital parking lot and transported to another hospital. I always give the receiving ER nurse all the details. Sucks at 3am!
This was in reply to a another post about discharging patients who after discharge call ambulance to take them to another hospital.
