Sept 2016 RPN Programs

Hello everyone!

This is my first post. I was curious who has applied for September 2016? What schools you applied to? HOAE experience? Also wanted to know if anyone knows expected avg cutoffs for sept? I've applied to Mohawk, Fanshawe, Algonquin, Niagara, and Conestoga. Have the obvious nerves about if my grades and HOAE grades are high enough. It would be nice to know others are freaking out too! :)

Are you going to hold out in hope of a spot at Algonquin?

I don't know what I'm going to do yet to be totally honest. I've read that to get everything done like police check, mask fitting, TB testing etc it could take up to 3 months to complete everything. That's a pretty tight timeline considering I'm still in college right now and work. Thinking I may just count my blessings and start working on getting everything done in time for Conestoga's start. Besides the more I research the school the more I like it.

I'm just excited and motivated to get started to do what I love!

The hep B vaccination series will take about 7 months to complete. First shot, then one month later the second shot, then six months till the third. You need to get that started immediately. They will charge you about $40 a shot if you go to your G.P. however, in Ontario, you can walk into a sexual health clinic and get the series for free which is what I did. I have my last shot in May. I have heard of people getting them done in a shorter time frame, but I wasn't given that option.

Maybe there's hope then.

I've heard through the grapevine that if you get "waitlisted" at Algonquin the chances of getting a offer is slim just due to the proximity of other rpn programs available in that area. Hoping that is just a myth!

I got waitlisted.. hoping for the best. I'm still working on the prerequisites.:shy:

i'm number 9 but doubt I'll get in. I'm going to visit Conestoga Saturday and if it goes well I'm going to accept their offer. Hope you get in and keep us posted. Best of luck to you JaquarX

I just checked Mocomotion and it now says application is under review / pending. Maybe they will let us know by this evening? I can't stop checking!!!

Mine said the same thing today, but also said I had an offer with an expiry date of May 1st. I found it confusing so I called admissions and they confirmed that this is in fact an offer and that the "decision pending" part, means my decision is pending. So if yours says the same thing as mine, then congratulations are in order!

Woo-hoo! Just accepted my Mohawk offer on OCAS, it's official, going to school in September.

trish.k, if you haven't already, go check your OCAS. See you in September.
