Sentara BSN 2018 applicants

Hi everyone! I'm noticed there hasn't been a Sentara 2018 applicants post on here yet. I'm just curious if there's anyone else on this website who applied for the BSN program starting in January?

Congrats everyone!! I was accepted into the program as well. I am from out of town so I need information on apartments, roommates etc. Unfortunately, the school couldn't offer any information on housing. Suggestions are welcomed. Can't wait to meet everyone.

I don't remember exactly when I found out my class schedule but I think it was pretty close to the start of classes. I don't know if they have changed it but for my first semester we were not able to pick our classes/schedules at all they set it all up for us and then told us what we had. For my second semester I was able to fill out a form that showed you the professor and they day/time, it didn't mean that I would get those particular classes but my advisors looked at it and filled out my schedule trying to give everyone one of their top choices for the classes that are divided up. (some of the classes the whole program will be there together for).

Orientation for my class was offered two different days the week before classes started, they sent an email and allowed you to RSVP for whichever day worked better for you.

Hi! Is anyone getting the nursing student kit they're offering? Not sure if it's worth it. I googled the cost of the exact same stethoscope on amazon it says $68. The whole kit is $140.

I was waitlisted :(. My GPA is 3.45 I scored a 78 on TEAS- I have a question - how many of you applied multiple times or rolled your app? Also did you retake the TEAS? I am not a fan of not knowing where we fall on the waitlist- does anyone have any idea how many people they put on the waitlist? And we really do not have any idea when we might get offered a spot... it could be December???

It's my first time applying, and I retook my TEAS once but they said they get your best scores from each of the test you take.

One thing they take told me is that they accept 100 students but due to people not taking their seat, the number goes up to 140s just to fill the seats. Don't lose hope!! Email a recruiter and ask, it never hurts :)

YEAh um no, not getting that kit! lol everything on there adds up to around 60 dollars. It's all on Amazon. Why pay 140 for a notebook and some sharpies 😂 And I don't want that stethoscope I'm going to wait and there's better quality ones you might want to switch to later.

Hey don't lose hope! I talked to a couple people who got in like a month or two before the program started. If I were you, I would get all the vaccinations required just incase they call you because it's a lot of work and requires time! Good luck, I hope you get in and I can't imagine how anxious you are feeling.

Hey what's a better quality one? I thought Lippman was the best but I have no idea which one to buy!!

Yay Congrats! I don't think a Facebook has been created yet. Do you live on that side of the water? I live all the way in Gloucester so I am trying to find someone who got accepted who lives near me.
