My message of solidarity and hope. Ruth Hansten RN BSN MBA PhD FACHE

This Pandemic should be a wake-up call to the general public, the government, healthcare workers and hospital administrators around the world. The problems that have occurred in hospitals around the world but especially in the United States have exposed the endemic issues in healthcare. With hospital profit, upper management bonuses and upper management ridiculously high pay being more important than patient safety and direct care providers physical and mental health and well-being. Over the 20 + years I have been a nurse, I have seen multiple hospitals put profit margins over patient care. Everything from having nurses take care of more patients than is safe, decreasing supplies necessary to perform care and decreasing other staff like respiratory therapists, nursing assistants, dietary, physical therapy and housekeeping to name just a few. Who then is expected to perform those tasks? Nurses. We as a nation, as a world, must speak up and say enough is enough! Support legislation where you live to improve nurse to patient ratios, limit profit margins for hospitals and demand transparency as to where your money is going. Shame those administrators who are making millions off the backs of people who put their lives at risk to save yours and your family's lives! Pleas help us help you.

Please look to the countries for their mistakes, we are not ready to open up. Come see the sick in the ICU, you do not want this disease.

Make sure to clean cell phones! They're the one thing that people touch A LOT!

Although the scourge of Covid-19 is not over we must anticipate the very real potential for repeat occurrences of this level contagion and begin hygienic practices in the immediate environment of person, family space and private property incluusive of pets and make every attempt to prevent outside contaminants from food and water supply. We must learn nothiing exists without some input or attention, and understand, that history will9 repeat itself..

Life like a mist, appears for just a day and disappears tomorrow. All that we are can quickly fade away replaced with tears and sorrow. In this difficult and trying times let's search for opportunities to be humble, accept that only God can help us and trust that he will at the right time. But for now,let us be each others keeper and take care of ourselves. Lets stay awake and be positive.

No one really saw this pandemic coming or did we? States had been lockdown for some time and now you as a community go and protest for the government to re-open the state. He did just that, now the number of the coronavirus spread rapidly. Um what did you think was going to happen?
Ladies and gentlemen do what you can safely. Stay indoors if you can, if you go out there wear your appropriate gears and go.

The resilience of our spirit has been shaken from it's sanctuary.

What once was, is now ever changed.

A silent tear escapes even the most hardened spirit,

Wondering, hoping, lingering onto a promise.

Our masks are hiding our frowns, our smiles, our uncertainty.

Our eyes are all that you see.

Is there a way that we will be able to feel the embrace of our loves ones again?

The windows of our eyes will soon see, that this moment in time will not be an eternity.

One day at a time, seconds to count, hours to live, minutes til night.

Although we feel like we're drowning, our faith will save us all.

Each passing moment, a laden heart strives to beat.

This is only a fraction of time, a testiment of our breath.
