U.S.A. Florida

Hi all,

I feel so nervous, anxious, and excited that next week will be able to start turning in our applications. Who else is with me? 6-8 weeks will seem like a lifetime! Good luck to everyone who is applying and I hope to see you all this spring

Just spoke to a rep in the nursing office who advise that they still have not started to contact people on their alternate list.

Hi jenn 19

I just got a call from seminole and a seat became available ..I got in.

Gook luck Jenn

Hi all! I have a question. I read on previous posts that people are mentioning when they completed their prerequisites and that if you finished them recently you won't be accepted into the program. Why would the school not accept someone if they just finished their pre reqs? That makes so sense to me at all. I thought all that mattered was that all of them were completed before you submitted your pre reqs.

It isn't that you won't be accepted. It's that you're less competitive. It gives those who have been waiting a longer amount of time to start nursing school a bit of an edge to help them eventually get in.

Also if you have any "In progress" classes at the time of your application you become less competitive as well. When I applied in Spring 2014 I had the 1 credit hour human nutrition "add-on" course that Seminole requires (UCF does not). I did not get in and the explanation I got was that since a more important course was not "in progress" I was dropped down to their 5th list of applicants that they look through to accept.

So basically, if you don't have all of your courses finished, don't apply.

Hello I wanted to know does anyone know how many students the program usually admits? and the wait time if I wanted to start fall 2016? Is it a 2 year wait list like Valencia?

SSC and VCC concurrent programs both accept 120 students.

There is no two year wait at SSC or VCC if you apply for the concurrent program with UCF. The Valencia 2 year wait is only for Valencia's Associate program; the program is totally separate from UCF's concurrent program with Valencia.

If you want to start fall 2016 you need to apply Spring 2016 and hope to get in :)

Best of luck to you!

Wow thank you for the information I am only 21 and grad from VCC at the end of 2015 with my A.A in general studies. I already have the money saved for nursing school really been saving since 17. Just really been looking for where to start after grad and want to get into this program.
