  1. Hey! I just made a FB group for Daytona c/o '17! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1655323781390286/
  2. That's a great score! Best of luck to you! I can't wait to be a senior and have a Junior buddy! I wonder who that'll be? :) Haha
  3. It is very possible to work while in the nursing program. I highly recommend that you don't. However many people are working, and while this is difficult for them, we haven't lost anyone due to working. 4. Well the first semester is very busy. You will have weekly quizzes, discussions, assignments, etc. But it is doable :) Something my Senior Buddy, who is graduating next weekend, constantly said to me is that it is possible, otherwise there wouldn't be a senior class. 😊 Brianna Terry Vice President - Elect UCF-Daytona Student Nurses Association Sent from my iPhone using allnurses
  5. If you take it at UCF they will have it same day Brianna Terry Vice President - Elect UCF-Daytona Student Nurses Association Sent from my iPhone using allnurses
  6. Everything is taken into consideration against the others in your application pool equally. It's all up to how well you fare against others. Brianna Terry Vice President - Elect UCF-Daytona Student Nurses Association Sent from my iPhone using allnurses
  7. I would recommend looking into the nursing elective course that I took last fall. It's an Interdisciplinary Approach to Gerontology, and was an online course. Great information, and it opened my eyes to the potential of working with the geriatric population :) Good luck everyone! 8. You're welcome! If anyone has any questions I'm happy to help :) Also, I highly recommend that you take a Nursing Elective in the fall semester before you begin! It's a life saver when you have one less class to worry about :)
  9. Hi everyone! I just finished my very first semester at UCF Daytona and I LOVE IT! You guys are in for a really amazing education if you get in! I'm sending well-wishes your way! I'm currently running for SNA Vice President and I can't wait for our incoming Junior class to arrive! Get excited guys! It's about to be the best time of your life!
  10. SSC and VCC concurrent programs both accept 120 students. There is no two year wait at SSC or VCC if you apply for the concurrent program with UCF. The Valencia 2 year wait is only for Valencia's Associate program; the program is totally separate from UCF's concurrent program with Valencia. If you want to start fall 2016 you need to apply Spring 2016 and hope to get in :) Best of luck to you!
  11. It isn't that you won't be accepted. It's that you're less competitive. It gives those who have been waiting a longer amount of time to start nursing school a bit of an edge to help them eventually get in. Also if you have any "In progress" classes at the time of your application you become less competitive as well. When I applied in Spring 2014 I had the 1 credit hour human nutrition "add-on" course that Seminole requires (UCF does not). I did not get in and the explanation I got was that since a more important course was not "in progress" I was dropped down to their 5th list of applicants that they look through to accept. So basically, if you don't have all of your courses finished, don't apply.
  12. Hey all! I'm very happy for all of you! I got accepted to SSC as well :) But since I'll be attending Daytona that means one more spot for someone! :) Yay! CONGRATS to all my fellow UCF Nurses-to-be!!
  13. Sounds like a wonderful way to spend your days! Best of luck to you both :) I just accepted my seat at Daytona today! Graduation 2016 here I come!!! :)
  14. Hi Kaitlin! Looking forward to meeting you! I just got accepted as well :)
