Hello, I'm fairly new to this group and I had a question pertaining to the LPN test. What type of test is it such as teas etc.

Are you referring to the pre-entrance exams to secure admission into LPN programs? If so, different programs utilize different entrance exams.

Some use the TEAS, others use the HESI, others use the HOBET exam, a few use the TABE test, and a handful of schools use the Wonderlic. There might be more entrance exams in existence that I have not mentioned.

Lots of tests. Lots of money to be made.

And you're on the menu.

All in the name of determining if you have the right stuff.

I am particularly enamoured of the "Wonderlic" just think of the possibilities there.

Yes, it really depends on the school. I know when I was seeking admission into an LVN program I had done the Wonderlic test as the basic admissions test and then when I got into the program they had test the HESI Admissions Assessment Exam to see if it will help the school out when it admits students into the program. TEAS and HESI are the two most common admissions tests that I know of.

Nowadays, many of the investor-owned schools gravitate toward using the Wonderlic. That should tell you something...

I had to take the TABE to prove I was qualified to take the TEAS. I took TEASV but did not b have to take the science portion. The possibilities are endless.
