Seek help for LVN schools

Published

i'm in san jose, CA and i have been trying to find some vocational schools to attend to get my LVN degree. but here's the problem, i graduated overseas with a B.S degree from a 4yr university and even got my college transcript translated to english and notorized. however, some schools are not willing to accept that and said that i need to pay additional money for classes they offer, which was from Western Career College.

i then went to WestMed College and they wanted a high school transcript or a GED. i showed them my college transcript and since then, they never got back to me. we even tried calling them countless times to get some feedback, but no answers or any specific replies to our question. eventually, it delayed us into any attemp to signup for their current class for this year; not to mentioned wasted our valuable time.

as for unitek college, gosh.. i don't even know where to start. we wanted to attend the santa clara campus, which we were assured of, but when we paid, they tell us, it's not available, only available in fremont campus. that's like over 40 mins driving from where we live. that's crazy! we even asked them several times in the beginning to confirm for the santa clara and was assured of that. then on the day we are about to sign the papers, my hubby caught the campus location listed as fremont.

then there's bay area college of nursing (BACN), which i've contacted and got most information over the phone. i noticed they have a campus in milpitas and san jose. i was told only san jose campus would be available. so when i called to find out information, the phone number always, i mean ALWAYS, gave me a busy tone. i had to call their palo alto branch to find out why and they couldn't give me an exact answer. sigh~

now, don't get me wrong.. but i'm sure these school are reputable in some way, but from a first hand experience, they've been nothing more than a shaddy cars sales man. i've done sales before and customer service, and none of which that i was shown was anything close to honesty.

so, i'm wondering is there a site somewhere that i can find out reviews about the school before i go and invest my time away from my 1yr old baby just to be disappointed later?

better yet, can the admin make a sticky on the board of all the vocational schools with LVN programs along with their requirements for faster research or feedbacks of the school?

please help~~

San Jose to Fremont should only be about a 20 minute drive. There's NCP Vocational in South San Francisco and Hayward. I almost went there and did my IV class there. I've always found them to be professional.

Also, Western Career College is extremely hard to deal with and they treat you like a child. I don't know anything about the other schools mentioned.

well, we live near the border of morgan hill and south SJ. so, the drive up to fremont is definitely not 20 mins, trust me. ;) not to mention the traffic on 880 northbound.. it's killer.
