Second-Entry Nursing Programs - 2014 Hopeful

Published

Hi Everyone!

I'm starting this topic for those who are applying to 2nd-entry programs, to start in 2014.

A bit about myself:

I'll be applying to University of Ottawa and University of Toronto.

Graduated with a Social Science degree from Ottawa U w/ 7.2 CGPA (aka 3.33 on 4.0 scale, or a B+)

A lot of community involvement in health promotion, youth counseling programs, women's health research..

Currently taking the prerequisites...

I'm kind of nervous about the applications because I know how competitive these programs are... Any advice from current 2-year BScN students would be great!

Let's get this thread going

The fact that you got on last year already might be beneficial , I hope so !

Got into Queens and Trent. I am waiting on U of T (first choice). If anyone hears from them let me know!

I am slo doing the last part of the course and so overwhelmed any way we can help each other out lol? I am doing midterm2 this week and the the last part[/quote']

I know it is overwhelming for sure, but we will get through it! Haha I wish there was a way of helping each other!

I just for an offer of acceptance from UWO!!

hey I was just wondering if anyone has applied to Trent as a first choice?

I just for an offer of acceptance from UWO!!

I also got an offer from Western today!! Western is my first choice, maybe we'll be future classmates??

Congratulations!!!! Good for you.

My CGPA is like a 3.6 on OLSAS. I have an 83% average.

Very possible! :) Although UofT is my first choice. Congrats on the offer!

Thanks Bettel!

HEy akpl, do you mind sharing your gpa? I'm anxiously awaiting to hear from UWO and i just want to see if im competitive

Same! Gatsbby09 and akpl, if you don't mind sharing your averages so that we can judge roughly where we stand! And congrats on getting in!

My cumulative average is 86%, but I don't know about my final 10 credits, they were taken in a funny sequence and with different weightings so I'm not sure how UWO will calculate them.

I'm also still working on BIOL 235, but I'd like to confirm something, since I had a problem with this at UOttawa. If you do not have any other ANP classes, is biol 235 sufficient, or is it necessary to take 230 as well?

HEy Venture, would you mind sharing your gpa?
