Seattle University BSN Fall 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi, guys. I've been looking for a forum for Seattle Uni BSN Program but there's none so I decided to make one. I'm applying for transfer/second degree program. I already have my B.A in psychology. Feel free to share anything. How's everyone's stats?

Ahhhh I got an invite for the interview also. I think I counted 96 slots not including the virtual interviews. Good luck everyone!

I have a 3.14. I’m an Army veteran with 8 years as a behavioral health specialist. I didn’t have any volunteer hours.

I have also received my invitation today!! Does anyone know what kind of questions they will ask??

Hey everyone! I wanted to jump on and offer to answer any questions you might have about the interview/acceptance process ? I'm a current junior transfer student at SU, and relied heavily on this forum to get me through the process last year! Someone did this for me last year, so I wanted to offer it to you all as well! Feel free to message me or ask in the thread ?

Hey RubyDS,

Thank you very much for doing this! ?

So, I got an invitation to the interview. Would you please let me know how should I prepare for it and what kind of questions am I expecting! And what did they personally asked you? Also is there anything that you wished you knew before you did the interview?

Really appreciate you’re doing it??

Honestly, I was so stressed during the interview so I don't remember exactly what they asked! But I would definitely be ready to talk about why you want to be a nurse and why you like SU specifically. And if you're going to use any "buzzwords," like social justice, it's okay, but you have to be able to back it up with evidence! Don't throw stuff out there if it isn't really true.

I would bring at least one question to ask at the end, but make it a question that isn't just easily answered by going on the website. I had read the entire college of nursing website many times over, and I think it impressed them that I knew so much.

Lastly, and this sounds obvious, but show up 10-15 minutes early! If your interview is on the 4th floor of Garrand (that's the nursing building), there's a seating area outside of the elevator that they'll come get you from. (I think I had to check-in at the main office first though. I can't remember exactly, but they'll give you those instructions in the email.) This might be overkill, but I put my phone away ~3 minutes before my scheduled time because I didn't want to look bored messing around on my phone when the interviewer came to get me!

Hope this helps!

Hi everyone! I have also applied to SU BSN as a transfer. I came along this thread while searching how to prepare for interview questions because I got invited for an interview as well! I'm very nervous so any advice would be so appreciated! Good luck to everyone!!

Hey everyone!

On Thursday (2/6) I was invited for an interview! I’m super nervous. I’ve only done about four interviews in my lifetime. I’m preparing for the typical interview questions, but trying to think of some curve ball questions they could possibly throw at me. I wish everybody the best and hope we all can get some insight from this thread! If anybody has advice for this interview, I would appreciate it!

Thankz so much ?

But it is still very overwhelming!! Btw do you still remember what question you asked at the end??

Has anyone done their interview yet! If so would you please wanna share your experience.

Anybody who has been through the Seattle U interview, were there any hypothetical situational type questions specific to a situation in nursing?

I had my interview yesterday. I would say just be prepared to answer typical interview style questions. There were no major curve balls that threw me off. If you have interviewed for any job before, it is the same style of questions.

Did they ask you questions related to medical/healthcare knowledge or behavioral/scenario questions about patient care or such?
