Seattle University BSN applicants???

U.S.A. Washington

Anyone waiting to hear back for the BSN transfer program at Seattle U to start Fall 2009?? I sure am...I'm going crazy!

I know we're not supposed to hear until April, but when I called to fix something on my application last month, I asked when to expect to hear back and she told me the beginning of March. I am driving myself crazy waiting for March!

Anyway, there are so many admissions topics on here, I figured I'd post one for SU.

O Chem was my best class for some reason haha I sucked at general chem..

I got my denial letter today :( Suck. I didn't even get wait listed. Well 2 more shots, one at UW the other at SPU.

I got my denial letter yesterday as well. Did yours say something about reconsideration?

Also, for those of you who were accepted, when do you have to send in your payment? My soon to be sister-in-law was wait listed as well and I wanted to let her know when she might see movement on the wait list.

Thanks and good luck to those who decide to attend.

I heard from past year that waitlisted gets accepted around May but I think it depends on where you are on the list too

Sorry to hear that your guys got bad news :( hopefully the other schools you applied to will have better news to give!

The deposit SU requires isn't due until May 1st so you're probably not going to hear anything about the waitlist until then unless people send in their intent to go to another school earlier

I felt bummed yesterday, but honestly, I was expecting it because I didn’t have two classes completed at the time of application. I ended up doing very very well in the classes, so maybe next year.

Although, I have learned more about some of the other programs since applying to Seattle U and I know that this is the BSN thread but I did want to let people know of the Direct Entry programs if you already have a BA/BS. I think it was a positive that I was not accepted because I have been forced to look at other options J

I don’t know what the future will bring so maybe I will be applying again next year J

Good luck and thanks!!

Still haven't received anything. Ahh! I chose a bad time to change my address :(

I love your optimistic view KFoss! The more you research nursing, the more you'll find ways to get your RN. And even from then, that's only a stepping stone! Becoming a nurse opens so many doors :)

And sorry to hear about that tartar, maybe you should just call them?

Darn I got waitlisted. I guess ill look on the bright side because I will be saving tons of money going to a c.c. :)

I just got back and this was my letter

"After a thorough evaluation of your application, we regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree for Fall quarter 2011.

However, we believe that with a stronger academic foundation you have the potential to achieve success here. Therefore, we will gladly reconsider your application on the basis of coursework completed at another collegiate institution"

So... I know it's not an acceptance, but it doesn't exactly sound like a rejection, but it doesn't sound like a waitlist either... I got an A in anatomy & physiology this term after retaking. Is it worth a shot to call them ?

That sure sounds a lot like my letter.

I emailed Ann questioning whether or not the wording was added in all of the letters and this is a quoted response…

“I’m not entirely sure of the wording regarding re-consideration, but yes, I believe it’s included on all letters. If you are interested in applying again, I’d encourage you to do so! Many applicants are accepted after applying a second (or even third!) time.”

But I would encourage you to call, what could it hurt? Like I said, my situation was slightly different in that my last two prerequisite grades were not considered in my application.

I got waitlisted (actually received my letter first week of March). Had a GPA of 3.1 (bleh) however I just mailed SU my most recent transcript and I bumped it up to 3.2.

Does anyone know any information about how SU handles waitlisting? I'm a little nervous, I'm only 17 so I'm wondering if they want me to get a little bit more life experience. Plus I have a low GPA. :crying2:
