Seattle University APNI 2015

Published

Well, I know it's early.

Anyone applying for 2015 start?!?

Hi again @May25! I have more questions for you if you don't mind! Did you talk to anyone when you visited PLU? I emailed the SON to see if I can go visit the campus and talk to someone about the MSN and DNP but haven't heard anything. Know of someone I can contact?

Hey everyone,

For the PMHNP students:

Just wanted to let you all know that I received an email back from Ben Graves. He said that admissions will begin moving students from the waitlist on April 3.

The following is from his email:

By now you will have notice of your wait listed status.

This means that your admission is subject to availability of a slot, and will only occur should another accepted applicant decides not to come to Seattle University. We apologize that we are unable to provide any specific information about placement on the wait list. Should your wait list status change, we will contact you immediately. Admissions into the program will open to the Wait List April 3rd 2015.

Kind Regards,

Ben Graves | Graduate Program Coordinator

cool! Thanks for posting

I just declined by Seattle U spot for the Psych track, so I hope my spot becomes available for one of you soon! Best of luck! The program looks great!

@lexi1822: Thanks for letting us know! Helps those of us on the waitlist keep some hope! :)

for anyone not on the Facebook page...this was posted yesterday from a student in the current cohort

After a meeting with faculty today: They have sent out lots of admits (enough to fill all spots) and have heard back from 53 people who have accepted a spot (I don't know specifics on which specialties have how many accepted). However, only 19 have made a deposit. If you are planning on coming to Seattle U and have been admitted make sure you send in a deposit ASAP (you have until April 3rd but the sooner the better). So, there are still possibilities that spots will open up (they will) soon. I will keep my ears open and let you all know as each specialty fills up. A word of caution though, people will drop at the last minute, I guarantee it, for various reasons, even after accepting an admit and paying a deposit. So, there is always a hope for those on the waitlist until the program actually starts. I know. frustrating.

I also got clarification for those waitlisted but didnt interview. As y'all suspected, those people will interview at a later time if they make it you in the waitlist. This will likely be after most of the people who already interviewed and got waitlisted are taken off the waitlist and accept.

I hope this helps. smile emoticon

I got waitlisted and didn't get an interview. I got a letter in the mail dated March 16th explaining that if someone declines their spot then they try to extend an offer to a waitlisted candidate as soon as possible.

@duhfeenuh - I did not meet with anyone specific when I visited the PLU campus, I simply walked through both SU and PLU because I wanted to get a feel for the campuses... not that it gives more merit to either program, but I wanted to get a feel for both schools.

However, in saying that, I am sure if you contact the school they will be happy to set you up with someone who will answer all your questions. They have responded to me promptly as I have been emailing and asking questions about financial aid and what to expect, etc.

Not an APNI applicant but a traditional one. Got accepted without having to do to an interview. Guess I'll be seeing you guys in the fall!:)

Anybody anxiously awaiting tomorrow/next week like me for when the wait list starts moving?

And THEN, Easter. So apparently, the school will be closed Friday - Monday and back up running on Tuesday.

I'm not really anxiously waiting on anything anymore. It's not that I've given up, I'm just tired of hoping. It's exhausting. Good luck though! I have since started looking forward to having an awesome summer and focusing on other things. I'm over it for this year, and will be applying again next year.
