I have not started the application yet. I have a MA in International Development and Global Health and focused all my studies on maternal and child health and I did Peace Corps in Central America where I worked at a maternity center. From my past experiences here and abroad in health education, I've become very passionate about women's health and more motivated to become a health practitioner myself.
Wow! Your background is extremely impressive! I definitely wouldn't be worried about your chemistry grade, your background and experience make you an extremely competitive applicant.
I got my BS in Public Health and originally wanted to get my MPH in Global Health, but then I interned at a non-profit for a while and did some other volunteering and realized that I wanted to have more interaction with individuals. I wanted to verify that this was what I really wanted so I got a job at a hospital and immediately fell in love with everything about it.
I want FNP because I am still extremely interested in global health, I just want to play a different role than I originally thought. I would love to be an FNP and work with Doctor's without borders. But ultimately, my goal is to be an NP for underserved populations of all kinds. I am extremely excited about SU because I feel as though their values lines up perfectly with mine.
I have two prerequisites left to finish. Micro and the Math 110.
I am going to apply for UW absn as well, but I have 4 prerequisites left to finish for their program and I feel like that puts me at a disadvantage.
