Seattle University Advanced Practice Nursing Immersion (APNI) - Summer 2025

Published

Hi everyone!

I decided to create a new forum for everyone who applied to the APNI program for the Summer 2025 term. I applied for the FNP specialty and am still waiting to hear back about whether I got an interview or not.

Does anyone else have any updates?

- Meghan 🙂

Just freaking out because I have been accepted into a nursing school in Colorado to their acclerated BSN Program  but of course waiting on this program because I live here and of course the end goal is to be a NP. Both programs start close together so it will legit be a fast move if I don't get into this program 😅 I should probably do some self care like you have been doing.

Congrats ! I got accepted to the UW ABSN program for this Fall, but the APNI program is my number one choice so I am praying for the A!

I know we are all waiting until March for replies, which seems so far away right now. I'm doing a lot of cleaning, reading, and walking right now to keep myself busy. Thinking of cleaning out the pantry today.

Are you all coping well? What are you doing for self-care?

Besides anxiously checking my email out, I keep myself busy by working and gaining more healthcare experience, and also volunteering at the local food bank ! Thank you for checking in.

Yes, welcome to this side, the grass isn't greener, yet.

Congrats and hope it went well!
What kinds of questions were you asked?

They asked me about an example of patient centered care and the big question was to talk about an instance where a conversation was had not in my favor.

Thank you and likewise for you!

The questions were mostly regarding the University's mission and values, and why DNP!

I'm trying not to freak out over the fact that I haven't received an interview request. I applied two days after the priority deadline, so I am just hoping that is why... Best of luck to everyone!

I think at this point you can call and see if interviews are still be conducting. I read last years thread and it did seem like a couple people had to call and get updates. No harm in calling 😊

Hey guys, I applied to the PMHNP DNP track (I already have my BSN). I logged into the portal randomly this morning and there was an update. It's a "post-accept checklist"which has me send all my official transcripts. But there is no official acceptance letter or anything. Does anyone else's portal look like this? I don't want to get my hopes up but I'm a bit excited.

Congrats! I wonder if FNP track has many more applicants to sort through than the others and therefore would take longer. Mine has no update as of yet.

Update, I got my official letter! Good luck to everyone and I look forward to meeting you in the Summer!

Neither does mine. But I think that the BSN-DNP is a little different than the APNI-DNP for acceptance. I'm hoping we will hear ar the end of Feb instead of beginning of March.

Congrats! For the APNI-FNP route, we were told we would hear back in March. Were you told the same timeline for the BSN-DNP route?

Yes. I interviewed on January 31st and I was told that they would have a decision by March 1 but that it could be earlier.

Thank you! That's good to know.

I hope you'll do something celebratory for your acceptance. You've earned it!

I think everything went well with the interview portion. The breakout portion had me a bit nervous because the students talked about how difficult the first 2 years of the program is and that they were in campus everyday which I didn't plan for. Also one of the girls said she was waitlisted a couple of times before she got accepted which added to the nerves. They wanted me to clarify my transcripts and talk about my grades because a few of them were low but I think I clarified enough to explain my situation. Which program did you apply for?

Ah yes that makes sense- gah this whole process is just so nerve wracking!

I applied for the ABSN -> DNP FNP track, what about you?
