Anyone already applying at Seattle U? Which track? I haven't finished my pre-req's, so I am probably not too competitive this year, but I am going to apply anyway. I am applying for the nurse-midwife track and my background is Microbiology (UW).

Thanks mayblazey!

I guess I must have my Facebook set up weird or maybe I'm just too Facebook illiterate...when I put Seattle University APNI 2012 into the search box, it returns with 0 results :(

If that doesn't work, just look for me, Meagan Blazey- you can friend me and then join.

hey everyone. for an update, got the letter today and I wasn't even waitlisted. now time to figure out the next step! apply next year, aa, bsn...??? i feel ok, though...frustrating but life will go on, right? good luck to all of you with your nursing future!

Sorry to hear that Murse, though I'm happy you're taking things in stride. Was SU the only program you applied to?

Same thing for me. Got the letter today, no waitlist mentioned.

Calinca, I'm so sorry to hear this. I've been following along since i got the boot last month and it saddens me that such an amazing person like you wasn't given the chance by SU. Sending positive vibes your way...

Calinca, did it say "alternative candidate"?

Just to add: I will apply again in november.

I'm like this: I cry a lot when I'm defeated. I'm a latina, you see. But then I get up. What I don't do, ever, is to give up.

The thing the is upsetting the most is that I won't get to share the class with you guys, not the fact that I'm going to have to reapply.

I'll take this time to make my application stronger, to volunteer a lot, to travel, to stay with my babies and enjoy as much as I can their wet kisses and all their firsts. It's only 1 year. I will see you all in 2013, if the world doesn't end LOL.

I learned a great deal with you all, thank you so much for that. If anyone wants to keep in touch, my name is Luciana Svilpa and you can find me on facebook.

No, they just said "we regret to inform we are not going to offer admission".

Gotcha. That's heartbreaking for me because I was really looking forward to your positive spirit. From what I've read in past threads you can contact nursing faculty and inquire about how to "strengthen" your application. I can't imagine where you went "wrong" or where I went "right" in the process so I'm not sure what they'd even suggest, though it's prob best to do so soon as you may still be fresh in their minds.

Calinca- I tried to message you and it didn't work so I friended you on fb so I can write you from there. My undergrad from SU, and I did not have the strongest GPA and got in. Had a horrible math GRE too. I know what they are looking for, and you are it. And you will FOR SURE get in, just not at the moment you planned. You are the type of person that SU loves- sincere, smart, worldly, caring. You WILL get in next year. I know its hard to think about now though. Let yourself mourn the change in your plans, but stay strong, and re-apply next year. I'll message you more later on fb. So much of this process is luck and flukes, and it does not mean that you are less strong of a candidate, its impossible to tell on 1 essay and an interview. I'm very sad you won't be in my class, but I know I will see you on campus the following year.
