Anyone already applying at Seattle U? Which track? I haven't finished my pre-req's, so I am probably not too competitive this year, but I am going to apply anyway. I am applying for the nurse-midwife track and my background is Microbiology (UW).
If they weren't both from the midwifery track, I wouldn't be worried at all, because it's a testament of the randomness of the process. Although Flaneur was super sweet when he was saying that everything is so disorganized, it is really hard for me, being in midwifery like the other two + having received the message that the mail was sent on monday + the email still not working, to believe that I was accepted.
That said, one situation that could have happened is: somebody placed the wrong message and sent and asap really don't mean anything. They could still be working on mine and my email won't work until, I don't know, tomorrow or friday or after. It's possible. This situation is more likely for NursePrac who is midwifery but had the asap message, so in theory her papers were not sent and her email wasn't set up yet.
Another unlikely situation (now, this is the scientist in me trying to come out) is that they gave me another username, but again, my last name is super, super rare.
I'm sorry for all the rambling and whining, I will post more news when I get the letter.
Hi everyone
Juuuust finished my anatomy final. phew. Four new pages of comments that I missed...
I think someone asked if I have a common last name - I don't. And my status still says will be mailed ASAP. Also, I'm a gal just so you know haha
Just want to add that Tammy from the Nursing Dept (who I bet many of you have bothered before as well ha) said yesterday that they "anticipate sending both an electronic and hard copy notification." But I have no clue if the email notification will come sooner.
All I can say is that I really truly don't think anyone should jump to any kind of conclusion until a letter comes. Graduate Admissions is swamped according to whoever I spoke with the other day and the status thing is clearly not reliable if Lenin's still says will be mailed ASAP. Those letters have to come sometime soon...
Nothing from SU in today's mail.
Pooja and Justine, it wouldn't surprise me that the process for determining and notifying AGNP applicants may occur after CNM and Psych are completed.
My reasoning:
*CNM and Psych posted earlier interview days/times than AGNP and FNP on this blog.
*I interviewed for AGNP on 3/3 (the last day scheduled), and I know that other AGNP and FNP were interviewing that day.
*If FNP and AGNP had more applicants and are slotted to have more seats in the program than CNM and Psych, it likely means that there were more applicants interviewed, and more to be reviewed to order the cohort into Accepted, Wait Listed, Rejected.
*My experience in interviewing and hiring individuals in a former job illuminated the additional complexity that occurs as the numbers of positions available increases.
Eventually, the mail will come and we will know the initial factor determining our fate as APNI at SU. Those who are wait listed will endure a longer ordeal, but many of us will all in up in the same location in the middle of June.

Justine, you're so positive. I wish I could be thinking like you right now...
I have just stooped to assuming that if your letter was "mailed" it means you're rejected, for "preparation" LOL but there's not really evidence...and correlation doesn't equal causation. HA
