Anyone already applying at Seattle U? Which track? I haven't finished my pre-req's, so I am probably not too competitive this year, but I am going to apply anyway. I am applying for the nurse-midwife track and my background is Microbiology (UW).
I think it is both acceptable and polite to write a thank-you note or thank-you e-mail after the interview. Just a few sentences, probably keep it professional and address it to the individuals who interviewed you. "Thank you for your time I enjoyed learning more about Seattle University school of Nursing etc. etc"
You guys know about the MSN for NP to DNP requirement switch? Here's an article that's very clear and informative on the topic.
Oops, perhaps that was a false alarm. I saw that someone write that decisions were made on Monday 3/5 and we would know by 3/15, but I was assuming the time lag was to account for letters sent by snail mail. I think we should know by next week if we call, but I can't be sure bc I forgot to ask. Butterflies!
Oh, I thought some decisions were emailed. All by snail mail? That's so 1997. I hope they at least update the website on Monday so you can log in and check your status. I was patient all through the process, but now I'm counting the days. I also think it's funny how every time I'm on here, there are like 3 or 4 guests. Other applicants are creeping on this thread, too. We're all waiting, looking for info!
Now that I am able to reflect more about the interview, I don't think it was THAT bad. Yesterday, I left still a little bit nervous and couldn't remember anything from the interview itself, so I thought I was just opening my mouth and saying blablablablabla!.
Problem IS: I know I didn't present myself the way I wanted to present, I could have added many qualities of my personality when I answered about what made me an ideal candidate. I just don't remember what I answered, but I know I didn't mention a lot of what I consider to be important traits of my personality.
Anyways, at this point we just have to wait and see. I hope I get in eventually, even if I am waitlisted.
Good luck NursePrac! At this point I am guessing you're done, done, done with it! Tell us your experience! I know you rocked!
