Seattle U - APNI 2012

Published

Anyone already applying at Seattle U? Which track? I haven't finished my pre-req's, so I am probably not too competitive this year, but I am going to apply anyway. I am applying for the nurse-midwife track and my background is Microbiology (UW).

I actually e-mailed them back because I hadn't heard from them in a while and they told me an exact time. Good luck to you too!

I think the questions were consistent with what people posted here. Everyone was telling the truth. There was a 5year plan question, which surprised me, and at the end, they asked how SU could support students financially and technologically. Wasn't sure how to answer that one. I think they were asking how you'll support yourself during school. I suggested they give everyone a free iPad..hee hee. They are just tough questions, asking you to tell about how you reacted in tough situations, so I guess it's not the type of thing I could really give any advice on, besides smile and be confident. Cheers! (by the by, I am usually just called Lenin :) )

Lenin,

Thanks for your thoughtful reply. You are so positive and seem to have a confident perspective on the interview process. That technology question is a bit of a surprise...!! good advice to just answer with confidence and sincerity. Thanks again for the details!

Omg just came back and don't know what to think. My nerves were through the roof.

Calinca, it is natural to feel overwhelmed. You were well prepared and are an amazing candidate! Keep your head up, now that the interview process is behind you, you are one step closer to your goal! Congrats on getting through the interview. :yelclap:

Thank you Justine. I took a long time answering the questions, It felt like!

Yay calinca! Do you have a good feeling? Did the interview go over 30 minutes since the answers were long?

I know what you mean. I felt like I talked a lot, too. But this is the only chance they can get to know you, so I think long answers are a good thing.

There were some answers that I felt were good but they put me on the spot a couple times (I had to explain some bad grades and I had to explain why midwifery in more detail) so that kind of threw me off a little. I just wish I was more eloquent than I was and I forgot a lot of things and points that I wanted to make. Definitely not good for me.

Oh and they did go past the 30min it was more like 40-45. But it was a little rushed in the end.

Well that's definitely a good sign about the time. If they were writing you off, they would have kept it to 30. I mean, as confident as I may sound, I stumbled too here and there. We're not robots! :) I suppose there's not much I can say to make you feel better.. but I hope you do! Crazy that decisions will be made in less than a week.

wow autocorret on my phone! I'm just going to wait till I'm at a computer to respond to your interview experience calinca
