Anyone already applying at Seattle U? Which track? I haven't finished my pre-req's, so I am probably not too competitive this year, but I am going to apply anyway. I am applying for the nurse-midwife track and my background is Microbiology (UW).
Well Pooja, so far all of the AGNP candidates on this board who received the initial interview e-mail (you, Cura te ipsum, and I) have not received the follow-up scheduling e-mail so perhaps it is just our specialization moving at a slower rate than the others. I'm with you though - the suspense is increasing every day!
Thanks for the thoughtful words, Kalium - Guess there is no way to know how the admissions staff and faculty are going about this process. Good luck with your interview next Saturday, sounds like it is a good thing you have a few extra days to prepare.
Junipers and Calinca- I really enjoyed your exchange about clinicals and expectations of the program. That was extremely useful information and Junipers I can feel your excitement about being able to move into your midwifery specialization soon! All the best....
It appears the faculty are enjoying a well deserved holiday on President's Day, and we likely won't be receiving updates on interview scheduling today.
I am focusing instead on 2/21/90 when at 1904 I was blessed with my youngest child and only daughter. When I need to "get outside of my own head" I reflect on God gracing me with two healthy children, and by extension into the following generation, my two exquisite grandchildren.
I decided to put down my science textbooks today and pulled out a history book to ponder philosophy and theology, searching for ancient wisdom and perspective.
I'm praying for AGNP, but as the saying goes, "God helps those who help themselves", and I find comfort in having a strong 'Plan B' to enter a top ADN program in the fall if I'm not accepted into SU.
This too shall pass ...
Cura te ipsum; I really don't think you should take this as a rejection but rather a glimpse into the unorganization of the program that we've often heard about in the forum. I think there is sollice to be found in the fact that no one has announced having an interview on March 1st which is the last day of interviews.Hang in there :)

Maybe we should deflect the worries by thinking how cool our summer IS going to be? I am not even considering the possibility of them rejecting me (or any of us) anymore. Enough is enough.
People coming from other states? Are you going to rent? Buy? Where? I live on the eastside, so I will have a "great" commute everyday - not much different than always has been. There is actually a bus that goes from here to 4th and Lenora, but I still have to check if it passes nearby the university. I don't think I will be driving...
If everything goes well, I am thinking about getting the pharm book in the spring to take a look. The students scared me so much! :)
Again, Blackbird and NursePrac (who else is out of state?). Great thing you are coming in the summer, it is great here that time of the year!
It's going to be so great and different from the UW, having a small class of 50 students rather than 200/300... I really want to meet all of you soon. Once we can breathe after all this we should go to a restaurant of something.
