I was just wondering if anyone out there applied for Seattle U's APNI program. I thought I'd start a thread because it doesn't look like there is one, yet.
I think we're supposed to hear about interviews sometime soon. Has anyone gotten word, yet?
Those who have already gotten in, what makes you stand out you think? (I have an MA, a 3.8 gpa, solid pre-req gpa, am conversant in two other languages and have two volunteer stints abroad.) This is tough for sure! Congrats to all!
Unlike a couple of the other people who've been admitted to the program who have responded to your post, I do not come from a medical background but I have been volunteering at a health clinic for the past two years. I speak fluent Spanish and lived abroad for three years. Since returning to the US four years ago, I've been working in university administration. My background is totally unrelated to nursing!
i'm in seattle and received my wait list letter last week. i called and they did tell me my placement on the wait list. sounds like some years they go pretty deep into the wait list and other years, none. so keeping my fingers crossed that some folks choose another place! ah the waiting game continues...

Yes, you have a very interesting background too. I think the volunteering thing is really crucial. Thanks for sharing your info. Indeed, very qualified folks applying this year!

Who did you call to get your waitlist placement number? Did they say how many were on the list? (I am on the wait list too.) Cheers
Hello, hello.
I applied to summer 2010-entry APNI....and I've heard nothing yet.
Is there anyone else who has received absolutely nothing in response?
I contacted admissions on Friday, and they said simply, "We still haven't received a petition from the College of Nursing."
I imagined I'd at least get a rejection letter by this date, or an interview, or something. My application was funky because I applied to the Nurse-Midwifery track, which was not yet published by the application deadline. I'm an alum, so I knew it was pending.
So does anyone else stand in a complete LIMBO at Seattle University??

Yes, I'm interested in that path too. I was thinking public health nurse then NP? Any advantages to this? (Sounds like we have similarities as far as wanting to do it all. :)
