Hi all! I wanted to start a thread for all of those that applied to the November 2021 nurse residency cohort at Seattle Children's Hospital! Which units did everyone apply to and what experience do you have?

I accepted CICU! Where is everyone else? My partner got a NICU spot and we’re excited to meet our NICU and CICU buddies!

Awesome - congrats to all of you! I graduate early Dec & plan on applying as soon as app is up. 

Will you all be doing standard 12 hr shifts, and are you straight nights or rotating? (just curious what the typical is)

Thanks everyone & congrats again. Also, for those out of town, I lived in Seattle for the past 4 years before moving last year for my ABSN program (& I want to go back!). Happy to chat about the area!

Once we get the schedule I can definitely give you more info! I was told I’m nights and they will be 12 hour shifts mixed with classes.

I’m going to be on a rotator shift with classes on Thursdays.

For anyone who got the job, or has done a new grad at Seattle Childrens, (first congrats!!), but also how long was the actual orientation part of the program? Ie. How long/ many shifts were you actually shadowing a preceptor?
