Hello!
Anyone applying for the new grad residency program at Seattle Children's hospital? What units did you select? How many in-person clinical hours were you able to complete due to Covid?
Has anyone been through the residency or interviewed and willing to offer some perspective? The good/bad/ugly and how to prepare for interviews?
For you California folks, Seattle Children’s is located in a neighborhood called Laurelhurst. This neighborhood and the ones immediately surrounding it (Windermere, Viewridge) are notoriously pricey and suburban.
For a decent commute in more ‘happening’ parts, this side of the Montlake bridge check out the University District, Ravenna, Greenlake, Wallingford, and Phinney Ridge.
South of the Montlake bridge is Montlake (lots of great greenery!), Madrona, and the up and coming Madison Valley.
South Lake Union and Queen Anne are definitely in the heart of classic Seattle, but tend to be super pricey. Madison Park is close and beautiful but again, pricey, although there is one large apartment complex that is older but pretty affordable.
If you’re thinking of living on the East Side (east of Lake Washington) such as Kirkland, Bothell, Woodinville, etc. there are some deals to be had and beautiful towns, but be sure to consider your commute. Due to Covid (and potentially off schedule with nights!) it may not be too horrible to commute in, but depending where you live you’ll have to contend with the bridge toll that charges you both ways and that can really add up.

@Knightkr thanks for all the recommendation. I really am struggling to find an apartment during this time as well as transferring my license. @Drea23 @izzy5761 how far are you both with transferring your licenses? or have you already done that? I'm worried about the California verification process since it's lagging a month behind, the Washington state already requested my fingerprints and stuffs. I hope everything will be completed before April 30.

I actually have been planning on moving to Seattle area so I tested for my WA license! I currently have a temp permit, but for some reason they are behind processing my fingerprints (I submitted them mid Jan) so my license is still pending!
