Good luck everybody! I really hope that you all get in. This is a really stressful time in our academic careers, so let's use this thread to comfort each other and to answer each others questions about the admissions process. And at one point or another, celebrate our admission in the SON. Thank you very much!
Melly! That is awesome, I am so happy for you!!! Congratulations. Thankfully for posting your stats. Hopefully we will all be joining you soon. So you are already an RN, trying your get your BSN, is that correct? That could be why your status was updated first.
I spoke to SDSU Admissions today on Facebook and they did confirm that everyone will be notified by the end of March. I am hoping for the best!
I would think so. I know the admission to the university will not admit the student if the department or major they are applying for will not admit the student. You cannot attend the university as a transfer student with an undecided/undeclared major. My admission status now asks for a deposit for the "intent to enroll fee (400.00)" which is non- refundable so I would think that would be a for sure thing. Although you can be withdrawn from admission if your grades or GPA are reported lower than what was provided on the application.
Thanks! Im soo excited. I am finishing up my last semester at San Diego City College ADN program and trying to obtain my BSN. Its a bit shorter than the generic BSN. I think 12-18 months. Thats probably why my status was updated first.
Is it true that we only get 48 hours to decide whether or not we want to accept going to the program for sure if admitted? Sdsu isn't my first choice and my first choice notifies us in the middle of April. I would be torn if I ended up choosing to wait for my top choice and not getting in then having given up my spot at SDSU :/
Well i did not get a notice like that yet. I think once the nursing program contacts you is when you have 48 hrs to decide. Intent to enroll is due May 1st. I had actually contacted the RN-BSN advisor asking when admission status will go out (this was in the middle of feb), and she said that my application has been accepted by her, they were just waiting on admission status to the university. Its probably different for the generic BSN since they have so many applicants.

The admission's office also stated that nursing students are typically the last one on the list to be notified of admission status. Hope that helps.
