Good luck everybody! I really hope that you all get in. This is a really stressful time in our academic careers, so let's use this thread to comfort each other and to answer each others questions about the admissions process. And at one point or another, celebrate our admission in the SON. Thank you very much!
UPDATE!!!! Okay so I spoke with Joann @ SON. She said that it's just her evaluating the packets so thats why it's taking a longer time then expected. She said the earliest we would find out our future would probably be Monday. I would just say sometime next week to be safe. I would still check your e-mails just in case she gets done earlier but I wouldn't count on anything till next week!ahhhhhhh! I'm sitting on the edge of my seat! I wish I knew what a good number would be so I can know if I'm even remotely close to getting in and if getting my hopes up was even worth all this stress and anxiety! lol
Icecrmlovr, if you could please edit your post to omit her name, that would be awesome. :) Mods will probably do it anyways.
That being said, I can't believe it's just her evaluating all of those! Holy smokes.
Hang tight, the wait is almost over. :) I would also take the CI slot and if you change your mind, you can always call them to release it.
I can't wait for this thread to explode in a few days.
Hello. I read somewhere at the website of the SON about externships and was wondering if any of you know anything about it, like if it's hard to get in? Thanks!I'm looking forward to hearing from the SON. Good luck to all of us and have a great weekend! :)
Externships vary depending on which facilities are offering them. It's an application process, and most don't accept students until they are past their 2nd semester. Externships can be for one semester only, or some places let students roll over another semester. they can be during the summer, or during classes.
I personally didn't have time for an externship, but plenty of my friends have, and they're invaluable experiences. :)
There are usually interviews for the externship positions, and the difficulty also can vary (so I've been told).

Thank you for the update!!
@Coriander - What do you think I should do...I got into CSUCI nursing program and they want me to answer to them by Monday whether I'm going to go to school there or not. Should I just accept a seat there if I don't hear from SDSU by Friday? (just because i don't want to wait till the last second to turn in my paper) Then if I do get into SDSU, just inform CSUCI that I'm declining my seat? I'm stressing out over here! lol I wish we would know by Friday whether we got in or not. Do you know how many seats there are for fall? I'm even more worried now, knowing that there is more applications then expected!! AHHHHH!! By the way you've been a great help if I haven't stressed that enough! Thank you!!!
