Anyone hear anything from the school/school of nursing yet? Anxiously waiting here..

I got in :) soooooo happpyyyy!!!! see you all tomorrow thank you bunches!!!!

ps I have been reading this thread since June so im all up to date with all the questions that have been answered :) I thought they would help me for spring lol!!! any way I need to go to bed...but im to excited to lol gnight

Hi please I just applied for the spring. What kind of gap do they look for and how was your interview. Would a 3.3 be good enough for rapid city?

Books. Those are what cost the most, especially first semester. I think I paid around $800, if not more. As the semesters go on, you're more easily able to order your books online for less money.

The iTouch, which I don't believe you will need, cost me another $185. The uniforms were $200-ish. The supply kit is around $125.

People get shell-shocked the first semester, but we tell them to remember that the scrubs last for five semesters, and you don't need supply kits every semester. (Second semester you pay around $40 for the IV kit, but that's it.)

Hi COrrianda, I just applied for the spring. Please do you think a 3.3 would be good enough for rapid city? Thanks.

Hi COrrianda I got an interview for this upcoming Wednesday. Please what can I expect?

Hi... Please what was your interview like?

Hey Coriander,

Do you know what the intro to nursing book is. I am accepted for the Spring semester and I want to get a head start on the reading because quite a few of the new nursing students that I speak with say that the first semester and second semester are the most difficult. What would you say about that?

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry I didn't get an email notification for this!

First, congratulations on being accepted! That's awesome!

The book list usually goes out a couple of weeks before school starts. Because there is a lot of change going on within the School of Nursing right now, the book might change as well. Therefore I am hesitant to tell you to go buy something based on what I bought two years ago. It's called Fundamentals of Nursing, though. I loaned it to one of my first-semester mentees, so don't have the edition for you.

The semesters are very different, so it's hard to say which semester is hardest. Right now I'm in the middle of my fourth semester, and there is a lot of busy work, papers, projects and community involvement. It's definitely my busiest!!! First semester was difficult because it's new and so different than our pre-requisites were. Second was difficult because the content was getting more intense. Third was difficult (for me) because it was labor-and-delivery and pediatrics, and while it was interesting, I'm not going into either of those fields. :)

Please for those of you who got accepted. I just applied for spring with a 3.3 gpa do you think this would work. My first choice is rapid city.

Entt, I also apologize to you for not seeing your posts. I had this set to notify me if someone responded in the thread, and I didn't get those. I'm so sorry.

I believe you're asking about South Dakota? This SDSU is San Diego State University. I was confused about the interview part, since we don't do that in our school. I do wish you the best, though, now and in your future!

Hi Everyone,

I know this is a bit off-topic, but do you know the total tuition for the Masters program at San Diego State University? Also, how competitive do you have to be to get accepted into the MSN program? I want to apply next year, but I'm not sure what to expect... Any insight would greatly help! Thanks in advance! :)

Hi! I'm not familiar with the Masters program (other than there are some INCREDIBLE instructors), but here is a thread which addresses the Masters program. I hope it helps. :) You can also call the School of Nursing and ask to speak with the person in charge of Masters classes. They just switched a few people around, so I'm not familiar with who that would be (plus we can't name names here).

@ Coriander: Thanks for the info! :)

Hi I'm applying to SDSU Nursing Fall 2012. For the Nov 30 deadline, we only need to apply to the college using CSUMENTOR and turn in a three page short application to SDSU nursing? And where do we list the prerequisite courses we've taken?

And then around January we turn in our TEAS, official transcript..etc

Thanks :]

If you are following the instructions here: http://nursing.sdsu.edu/programsbs-application.php then it seems you're doing fine.

I just looked through everything on that site, and the pre-reqs are listed on the application itself.

Thanks for the help :]
