SDSU BSN Fall 2020

Published

Hi all! I applied to transfer to SDSU BSN program for fall 2020. I was wondering anybody here also applied SDSU to transfer so we could share info and help each other! Here is my stats:

Cumulative GPA: 4.0

Pre-reqs GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 85.0%

Have work experience

I have 69 points so far. Not sure if it is competitive enough since SDSU is tough to get into. As long as I checked a thread of Fall 2019, some people got accepted with 68 points, so finger crossed ... My TEAS is not really great so I am thinking to re-take it by the due of supplemental application as well.

Good luck to everyone!!

No prob! I just heard from my NSO Zoom that English 305W is an easy course, and you can do Pass/No pass option for Ge's. Like I said before, ENS 330 was pretty easy as well. ?

Thank you, thank you, Marce!! I guess NSO is new student orientation, and 305W sounds nice to take as well! I will definitely check this class out too!

hey everyone, im looking to apply for fall 2021. however, I am unclear with the Chemistry requirement. I emailed, but they were no help. I looked at assist but there is no agreements for nursing. I have taken Chem 30A which is Intro to Chemistry at evergreen valley college. does any one know if this is an acceptable course? thanks!

Hi Vanessa! Yes, just CHEM 30A is acceptable! I only took CHEM 30A from EVC and I got into SDSU‘s program for the fall 2020 term! ?

Annietee,

Thank you so much!! I appreciate it, this transfer process is a headache ? I wish the assist page was more up to date. ?

one more question, might sound dumb but....

How do you guys calculate your cumulative GPA? is it the same as the GPA on my transcript, im confused bc when I first started community college I had to take classes that were non transferable & I also took some classes just for fun like film ect..

would really appreciate your help ? thanks!

I cannot dispute Vanessa said. Looking at the SDSU SON website for transfer students, it shows as a prerequisite being "Chemistry (General, Organic, Inorganic, or Integrated with Lab) (Minimum grade of C)" I would double check, maybe with one of the EVC counselors. There is a website, I do not remember what is called, there is setup to show what the class equivalent is a various CSUs for various community college colleges.

Personally, since it is a intro class, I suspect is it not enough, especially if EVC offers a general Chemistry. The community college (Solano Community) did intro, intermediate, and general. There were more after general. If my thinking is correct, I would take intermediate because a lot of nursing programs, that's the bare minimum you need to apply.

It will not be the same as on your transcript. NursingCAS, I think, and ApplyCSU will give you a cumulative GPA. To calculate your GPA is like doing your term GPA, but for all your classes that all allowed. In this case, the classes that are transferrable, including the ones you took for fun. If you have a lot of classes, I suggest using a spreadsheet. The basic formula is total grade points divided by total completed class units. It's a bit more tricky if your school gives "+" and "-" grades since they have different weight. If you've taken classes at different schools and they were a mix of semester and quarter terms, you'll need to convert all your classes to either semester or quarter. You can look up the conversation.

Luckily, your transcripts will give total units completed and grade points earned.

I just paid my tuition and started registration. However, it seems our nursing classes (NURS XXX) are automatically registered, so I have not really done anything. Now I am thinking what should I take beside nursing classes. (upper writing or medical ethics).

Hi! I’m a part of the incoming Fall ‘21 cohort. I was wondering about class registration! You say here that NURS classes are automatically registered for us. Does this mean that we don’t get to choose our class schedules with regards to NURS classes?

thanks for any info ?
