SDSU BSN Fall 2019

Published

Hi all! I applied to transfer to SDSU's BSN program to start in 2019. I thought I could start a thread where we all could share our stats and experiences. Here are my stats:

Prereq GPA: 4.0

Overall GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 89.3%

This puts me at 68 points as I have no work experience. Good luck to everyone!!!

Hey guys, does anyone have a link to the Facebook page for those looking for roommates or off-campus housing? Thanks ?

Hello, I sent all the required documents needed for the admission, but I'm confused if we need to send our TEAS score to the SON. On the Transfer website, the deadline to send the proof of the score is May 1st, but I didn't receive my acceptance mail till May 10th. Furthermore, it doesn't appear on the required documents checklists. Should I still send the score to the SON?

Hi Remia!

Peter said he would send emails to us in June about sending TEAS score and proof of paid work experience.

Thanks! I was so worried about it!

You are welcome! I sent my unofficial TEAS to him a few days ago and the unofficial one seemed fine ?

Thank you so much!

I plan to sign up for the WPA that will be held on Saturday, July 13 at 11:30am so that I can get my results just in time for orientation.

Yes, you need to attempt the WPA on or before the last day it is offered in October (since it takes roughly three weeks to get the results and since we register for our Spring semester in November). If you don't do the WPA on or before the last October test opportunity (which is October 19), then your registration for Spring semester will be put on hold.

Thank you so much!

You should request to join "San Diego State University Off-Campus Housing"!

Is there anyone planning to take summer class during summer?

Hi!

Is there anyone who knows how to navigate webportal to see if being on hold or not? Thank you

I was considering to do summer classes at one point, but I ultimately decided not to because of the cost (https://bfa.sdsu.edu/financial/student/tuition.aspx) and because the summer classes offered seem somewhat irrelevant to what the SON recommends. I feel that taking classes in the fall/spring semester would be more ideal just based on how the nursing tracks are structured (https://nursing.sdsu.edu/programs/bs-in-nursing/curriculum/transfer-curriculum/) and because a greater variety of classes (especially upper division GEs) are offered. That's just my opinion though.

When you say "on hold," do you mean holds for being able to register for classes, the items you need to submit in order to finalize the admission process, or something else?

I actually applied for the summer class at the community college because I was taking an educational leave, so I thought I should take a class before the school starts to refresh my brain. However, I think you are right. It's not really necessary to take summer class for extra credit.
