Scrubs catalogue conspiracy!

Published

Ok, maybe not a true conspiracy , but has anyone noticed that there seems to be ONE catalogue company, although there are many catalogues?

I ordered from Best of Scrubs, Cotton Scrubs & Company, Scrubs Express. They ALL came from shipped from Tafford! Then, too, there's a separate Tafford catalogue :uhoh21:

I also have an order from Jasco waiting to be delivered....and I think THAT'S Tafford, too! Will know for sure when it arrives.

Does anyone know of a mail-order company for scrubs that is NOT Tafford??

Yes, I figured that out years ago when the return addresses on the catalogs were all the same. The main thing if you're ordering from more than one is that you can combine the orders, making your shipping charges a little less. Unfortunately, Tafford is like so many other vendors that charge shipping by price, rather than weight, even though price has nothing to do with how much it costs them to ship.

Jasco is a different company. I've ordered from them, as well. Their prices were better, but I found their fabrics thinner and cheaper-feeling.

Ya know, I'm usually savvy about the address thing, and maybe they figured out alot of people are, because they use multiple addresses now! Not kidding. And I'm new at ordering from scrubs catalogs, so although I looked for that, it's hidden a bit better. :uhoh3: And, of course, each catalogue gave a different discount for free or reduced shipping: one of them had free for orders over $40, another had to have $100. I ordered from both, had NO free shipping, and naturally AFTER I placed a $45 order from the catalogue that had a $100 minimum they offered me the $40 minimum IF I'D ORDER AGAIN. Yeah, right. Same danged company. :angryfire

Jasco, I've only ordered their "can't see thru me" pants in the past, and I LOVE them. White and you CAN'T see through them, a quality heavy weight. But I'll definitely keep in mind what you said about the fabrics in general...unfortunately, I have two scrub tops from them on their way now :uhoh3:

Well, you might luck out. It's probably more a matter of which manufacturer had made the particular scrubs I bought, rather than anything Jasco does. So you might do just fine.

I'm glad I have your "ear" ....I sat there going through the size charts each catalogue gave (online, not in the paper catalogue, wonder why that is?). Anyway, I found myself ordering medium from the Tafford Show, and large from Jasco--based on the charts. But frankly, the medium from Cotton Scrubs & Co (Tafford) is VERY generously sized. I hope they do that to allow for shrinkage because it's 100% cotton....? So now I wonder if my large tops are going to require me to throw a small child in with me to fill it out!

I hate not being able to try them on. There is a uniform shop in the area, and I buy from them what I can, but they don't have a very good selection in my taste. From there, though, I bought Cherokee and White Swan and find I can be a small or a medium, depending on the style or cut.

What's been your experience with different brands and sizes?? Any assistance would be great....I think I'm going to be catalogue shopping most of the time, unfortunately. Would like to support my local shop when I can, but I just am not a Cartoon Character kind of person--I like the more grownup, subtle or subdued prints!

I order exclusively from smartscrubs.com, and my stuff never comes from Tafford. Tafford's products and customer service are crap elevated to high art.

try allheart.com or UA scrubs or lydiauniforms.com

But before you try allheart.com, try searching this very site for experiences that others have had with them. If the posts are no longer showing up the traditional way, do a google search and read the ones in the archives from allnurses.

Good luck.

Thanks :)

I think the sizing thing is my sticky point right now; each manufacturer for each brand does a different fit so deciding S-M-L isn't really useful :(

The top I got in the mail yesterday (which prompted this thread!) has a strange set to the sleeves, so that they look sorta like peaks pointing out from the shoulders. Odd. Not really a big deal, but....odd. And it did NOT look like that on the model, of course!

Two times I used a code for free shipping with Tafford my order was cancelled. ugh

Go to uniform city website and get a catalog from them- they are out of FL I think and they often have shipping specials and things get to OH in about three days with standerd shipping. Great prices, easy online ordering.
