Just opened yesterday, will be my second time applying!! Hoping everyone the best of luck in this wild market ❤️
For those of you who are applying, do you mind sharing whats on your application that makes you a competitive candidate? Im planning on applying for the august start date and want to be doing whatever I need now to stand out. I have my ACLS, BLS, NIHSS and working on PALS and NRP certifications. I was a CNA for 3 years at sharp memorial in oncology. I am doing an externship at a hospital in Phoenix while finishing my last semester of nursing school. I am worried that because I didn't go to school in San Diego I won't have the same connections that those who did clinicals at scripps might have.
Im most interested in the ED, however im thinking it might be easier to get into telemetry since this is where im doing my externship so I have some experience in this unit.
Is there any other certifications I should be trying to get for ED or Tele?
Thank you in advanced!

I have all certifications mentioned, plus 4 years CNA hospital experience and this is my 3rd time applying. I've been rejected from every hospital. Born and raised in San Diego.

Ugh im sorry to hear that! Its so extremely competitive and discouraging. Have you gotten a interview to any of the positions youve applied too?

Nope, nothing. I also worked at scripps as a CNA for 2 years. The hospital I worked at isn't participating in the new grad program so I have no connections unfortunately 😞
