Scripps New Grad Residency Jan/March 2018

Published

Hey everyone! Just wanted to get a page going to help each other out with the process at Scripps!

Mine still says "Under Review" as of September 27th. I wish they could send out dear john letters because I don't think there is much hope that I will still get an interview. My application was weird though in that the status basically showed that I wasn't selected for the job the first week I submitted, but then changed back to "Under Review" on the 27th, and has been there since. Maybe I was getting a second look? I don't know.

I was contacted October 12th. I would guess this depends on the specific hospital, it seems like invites were slightly different in terms of times emails were sent. I would guess if you got a submission for a background check that means you have moved forward. Maybe this hospital is behind or maybe enough people did not respond/rejected the interview so they were able to add more people to interview?

For all of those who got an interview, congrats btw!!! Would you be able to let me know how long is your resume? 1 page? 2 pages? Or more? I really think my resume is not good enough. I applied to the program twice already and I still did not manage to get an interview :/ thank you anything will help

I have a BSN. My resume is 2 pages long. I additionally attached a cover letter that was general to the hospital. I also attached two letters of recommendation (also general) from my clinical instructors. I have experience as a CNA (1 year home care, 3 months facility) and a couple months experience as an RN in SD county. I did not apply to the last round of Scripps but have applied repeatedly to UCSD and Sharp. I only received one "Referred to Hiring Department" before this but 0 interviews. My RN job currently I never applied to, I received a recommendation from someone that worked there that got me an interview, its not acute experience. I received a lot of advice from anyone I could. I have no idea what got me through this round of applications vs. other applications may just be luck of the draw.

which location are you interviewing for?

Mercy San Diego on Tuesday

Anyone else interviewing for the DEU in La Jolla ?

I have an interview for La Jolla DEU! I applied the last round and didn't get an interview. My resume is 1 page, and I sent a cover letter that was specific for the new grad program. I am currently working as an RN in an acute setting in SD county. Something I noticed--- If you are applying from out of the area it is difficult getting an interview. Since it is so competitive I feel as if they look at san diego candidates first. Of course they wouldn't ever admit to it, but from my experience it seemed like things came easier once I had a San Diego address to put down on my application.

Does anyone work at Scripps already?

Does anybody know how long it will take for us to hear back? I totally forgot to ask during my interview!

From previous posts, i've seen it take up to 2 weeks or as soon as week. How did it go? Were they on time?

I was the first interview of the day! I think it went great but who knows...They said they were interviewing about 170 people over the next two days.

Specializes in Emergency.

Anyone who interviewed have any tips ?? Hope they all went well! :)
