Hey all!
I wanted to start this thread for those of us that applied to Scripps New Grad Program for August 2012.
I uploaded my app and finished the Talentmine appraisal on Monday, May 14, at 2 pm. I hear that the first 500 apps (the limit that they will consider) tend to be uploaded on the first day. I am checking every couple of hours to see if my app status has been changed from: "Application Received" to: "Application Under Review". Nothing yet, (22 hours later). Those who applied on Nov. 7 2011, heard within 10 days if they were scheduled for an interview.
Let's keep each other posted, okay? Let us know if you are:
1) An "internal" or "external" candidate,
2) Any experience as a CNA or NA
3) Age
4) BSN or ADN and when you graduate(d)
5) School and GPA (if comfortable)
6) Local or from out of San Diego
7) Talentmine Category breakdown by percentages (If you saved/printed that screen with the Pie Chart out)
8) If you received an email for an interview
This will help us figure out what Scripps is looking for.

Good luck to all of us!
Good morning!
I also sent out thank-you emails to my interviewers. I haven't heard anything back, but am not worrying about this because there were over 200 of us. :) I like to send out emails, too, because who knows what can happen in the snail-mail system!
All the best! This is getting exciting!
I didn't send thank-you emails, but handed them a thank-you card instead at my interview on the 31st. I haven't gotten any response at all and starting to wonder if I stood out enough from everyone else. The interviewers made me feel completely at ease as they probably did with everyone else, and one of them sensed my initial joyfulness of having that interview opportunity with such a wonderful organization like Scripps.
Hoping they pick me, but I have my doubts.
Good luck to us all!
They didn't ask me specifically which hospital or unit I wanted to work in - When she ran down the list of where we would be going for residencies, I did say "They're ALL perfect." which is the truth! Med/Surg, Onc, and Tele are my top three. :)
I mentioned that I'd had clinical at Chula Vista, and my family members were cared for at La Jolla, and that I haven't been to Encinitas yet but would love to see the campus.
I woke up this morning for 8 emails, and it took me about 15 minutes to click on "inbox". They were all from different people I know. Ha.
I hope you all have a good week! I look forward to hearing from you!!!
I too hope they let us know soon! I really want this job, it would be amazing for me.
I was asked what area was my preference at the interview, and do have one that would be great (oncology) but I am very open to other areas because I know I will learn a lot and I love the opportunity for a challenge! I hope that stating a specific area doesn't narrow my possiblities!
I also don't have a preference for facility and haven't been fortunate to experience any of them previously, but I know Scripps is a great place!
Good morning, RN2012BSN :)
Scripps is an amazing place... the only facility I've never been to was Encinitas. I've had three family members be cared for at Memorial in La Jolla, and it was always a great experience. I had clinicals myself (I think I mentioned this) at Green and Chula Vista, and they're also wonderful places to be. :)
Go team! lol

sent my thank you emails out, and havent heard anything from any of them. interview went great, but who knows how they actually choose people. saw the woman's paper in front of me and it seems like they grade your response on a scale of 5 to 1 .. 5 being the best and 1 being the worst. i guess we'll all find out very soon!
