Scripps New Grad May/August 2018

Published

I applied on Monday when it first opened. Just wanted to see how everyone else is doing with their application :geek: so far my status says it's been received.

Hey everyone!

Just checking to see if any of the new hires have received their schedules yet? Chula Vista to be more specific. I know they told us to contact our hiring manager but I cant seem to get ahold of her..... Orientation is next week so I'm hoping I hear back from someone soon!

Hey Katsil7!

I too have not heard anything regarding the scheduling for Chula Vista, and I have reached out to the hiring manager as well. I really hope we hear something soon:)

I hope so too! Although I am a little relieved that I'm not the only one at least.

One of my friends starting at La Jolla next week in the program doesn't have hers yet either. She was told it's not ready, so maybe it's across the board. Keep me posted if you hear anything :)

I just received an offer email for Scripps La Jolla DEU! I start in August!

Hello! I know this was a while back, but do you happen to have any tips for the interview? I have my interview at the end of this month with La Jolla DEU as well! ? Congrats on your nursing journey!

Although I was hired by Palomar for my New Grad position, and now work for Sharp- I originally interviewed with Scripps twice. The questions are almost all behavioral. At one point I was even asked how and what I would sing to a patient in order to soothe them.

I’d say go in with positive energy and be adaptable. I got the impression they didn’t care about the experience I had or what I thought I knew- they want people that are completely moldable. Also, new grads all start on Med Surg type floors so it’s important to show you are OK with this for at least a year.

@esb_sushine Congrats on your RN journey! And thank you for the response, I greatly appreciate the time taken to respond. How and what you would sing?! Oh my, I would probably respond that I wouldn't because my patient would probably be more stressed because of my horrible singing voice ?

Thank you once again!

I interviewed for the DEU. The offer was for med onc, but I think they're the same. My start date is may 29th. í ¾í´— when do you guys start?

Hello @ktrnsd!

I know this thread is a bit over a year old, but I have an interview with the DEU in La Jolla at the end of October. How was the interview process? What is the difference between the DEU and other programs? Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
