Scripps Health New Grad Residency August/October 2023

Updated:   Published

Hi guys! Just wanted to start a post for the cohort for August/October 2023. Just curious if anyone would know the answer to this but it says on their FAQs PDF that there is only positions in units like med/surge or telemetry however during the application, there were choices like medical acute and surgical acute. Does anyone know if those units are hiring or not? And if we could apply to multiple units?

Has anyone heard back from Encinitas?

I interviewed with La Jolla's DEU last Wednesday... hoping to hear something soon. Feeling discouraged as I've either been denied or not received an interview from everything else I've applied to. I'm coming in with a BSN, 2+ years of hospital CNA experience, and an ICU practicum, so it's been tough receiving so many rejections ?

for those who interviewed how long did it take you guys to hear back with an offer letter? I'm hoping my interview went well and hear back soon

Also random questions but for those who received offers- how much is the NG program hourly rate? nothing on the website and I didn't really ask it in my interview LOL

I think it's 56.00 hr + 6.80 night differential? I think that's what the info session my school had said.

Specializes in Cardiac ICU.

from what I have heard they sent rejection emails right away to some people, so if you have not been rejected then you're still in the running so don't get discouraged just yet!

Also, just FYI the county of San Diego is hiring for psychiatric nurses (& they really need nurses!) and the pay is almost $58 an hour. If you go on Night Shift, it's almost 61.  Plus we have eight hours of overtime built-in to every paycheck!

Hi! Thank you for this info!!  Where do we apply? I loved my psych rotation!

Paradise Valley hospital and Alvarado hospital hire new grads as well. The pay is less but still hospital experience!

They're still interviewing today. My contact says it will be a week longer than expected for decisions and interviews to be complete
