Scott & White Internship

U.S.A. Texas

Does anyone know when the Scott & White residency start in January? Thank you!

Hi,

I don't know when they start, but I applied for the Critical Care Internship and recieved a call this week to interview in a couple weeks. I was wondering what the pay was for GNs and if they offer relocation, etc...I can't get speak with the recruiter until Tuesday, so I am dying to know??

Thanks!

It starts January 4th. I am in the NICU Internship program. A classmate of mine is in the OR program and they start the 4th as well.

Are there any ADN's in the S&W internship, or is it just BSN's?

I just interviewed on Tuesday for the critical care internship and my husband did as well. We are both ADN nurses.

I know they are taking ADN's. I have a couple of other classmates from Austin Community College that are entering the OR Nursing Internship program in January as well. I will not be doing the Scott and White Internship for the NICU after all. I live in Austin. I accepted a position at Seton Medical Center here in Austin for their Versant residency program. It was a difficult decision because I love the NICU but it will work out better for my family. Scott and White seems like a good program. I know the hospital is very highly regarded. Good luck to everyone pursuing the internship program!

Lisak-

Can you tell me anything about the Seton application process? Or interview process? I applied recently and am still waiting to hear back, but I was just curious if you could share any of your experiences with them. It sounds like they have a great program!

Thanks!

sophie03- I'm sure you know you apply directly to Seton as a Graduate Nurse and then also apply through the Versant office with faculty references, transcripts, goal statement. I would call the Versant office directly if I were you and make sure they have everything. I had a professor fax my Faculty Reference three times before they said they received it. I received an email telling me that my application was being routed to the different hospitals. From there, the unit managers look at all the applications and choose people to interview. I met some of the unit managers at the Versant Recruit Night they had awhile back. I had a great experience with the unit manager at IMC at Seton Medical Center. She was extremely nice. I felt like I was talking to an old friend. She asked questions like, "Name a time during nursing school that you are most proud of." "Tell me about a time of conflict and how you handled it." I had a good vibe from the unit nurses that I got to meet as well. The first step for you is to make sure they have everything. Keep calling them. Make sure your application is routed to the managers so they can consider you. Good luck!

Thank you for your response Lisa!

I have actually completed all of the application and have been notified that my information was "routed" to the other hospitals. Now I guess I just wait! I guess I was also curious how long you waited before you heard from a hiring manager. Did you apply and interview recently or was it a while ago? I feel like I'm applying late, but hopefully there are some positions left!

I have spoken to some of the Residency program staff, and they're always so helpful, but I also enjoy hearing your experiences since you've already gone through the process!

Thanks again for your help!

I wish I could email you directly but I haven't posted enough times to send direct emails. I think I got all the info turned in mid Novemberish. I got a call last Wed to interview on Thursday and offered the job the next Monday. I know Brackenridge is currently scheduling interviews for early January. Good luck to you!

I know, I tried looking up how to message you as well, but I also have not reached the required number of posts. Working on it though! But your input has helped a lot. At least I can hold out hope that I still may get a call

I'm one of those unlucky "new grads" who has been searching for about 5 months now, put in countless applications and received one call. But, those were all in Illinois, so I'm broadening my horizons!

Thanks again. Congrats to you on your success! And I'll probably be back with more questions if I hear from them :specs:
