Scored very low on the teas v =(

Published

I took the teas version 5 exam today. I don't really want to post this but i feel like nursing students will understand me better. I've been studying for teas for about a month and got a REALLY low score. I don't know if you calculate it differently but i'll just read off what i got. :uhoh3: (I used the ati study guide for teas v and a mcgraw hill book.

Adjusted individual total score: 58.0%

Reading: 61.9%

Science: 50.0%

Math: 50.0%

English/language usage: 73%

These scores are incredibly low. I did way better on the study guides but when test day came, i totally freaked out. I don't know if it's test anxiety or i'm just not meant to do the thing i want to do the most :crying2:

I think it may be test anxiety, do you have another chance to retake it?

I retook today and did good on everything except english and I thought I knew it too well so I only focused on every thing else! What program are you applying? And the teas V is really complicated you have to make sure your study book is for TEAS V and advice I was given that made me scor extra 15% or more on every other subject was relax! Read every question and answer CAREFULLY!! and have a calm attitude go in knowing your gonna pass. When I got to the end I was so eager to get my resulds I did english in 15 mins and didnt look over it :uhoh3: So you can do it!!

Yes i do, i can retake it when the next testing window opens! I really do need to retake it because those scores are just horrible and i wasnt expecting it to be so low!:uhoh3:

Yea i think i needed to be a little more calm! I'm always time conscience so i was freaking out. I'm applying for the nursing program which i know is super competitive and it gets me worried that this testing anxiety wont go away. I'm fine with little tests, like in the classroom but when it comes to big exams like the teas, i start to freak out. Next time, i think i really need to just focus on my calmness. Thank you so much! :)

I just reread lol and I screwed that post up!! But yea thats a big thing not being so tense and DO NOT RUSH!!

Hi

Was the retake for TEAS V different from the first time you took it? I took the TEAS V a while back and didn't do very good on it. I was off by 0.7 points to a passing score :( I will be retaking the TEAS V test early February and I am extremely nervous for this retake, mainly because I am already guaranteed a spot in the nursing program...I just need to pass. The pressure from my mom isn't helping much either.

The test was way harder than I expected, and I scored 76. You know what to expect now, so the anxiety shouldn't be so bad next time. A friend of mine scored 87, and she said to purchase both of the practice assessments from the ATI Testing website - it really helped her, so that is my plan. Good luck!
