  1. Hi Tori1. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't do very well on your NCLEX. This is a major pain in our BRAINS! Also, I'm afraid that if I take that med-tech position, my focus will be on studying AND starting a new job at the same time. I mean, what if starting a new job really throws me off concentration ? This kind of threw me off when they contacted me right after I took my test and I really want to take my test in 45 days and PASS! The timing has never been so bad! Well, I really do hope that we both will pass on our 2nd attempt.
  2. That was what I was afraid of. What if I took the job, pass my NCLEX 2 months from now and if I am lucky enough, I might find an RN position? Next thing you know it, I have to quit that med-tech job feeling bad. When I had my interview with them a month ago, they were concern that I would leave the job very soon after passing my NCLEX. They even asked what I was going to do in the near future. I told them that finding an RN position isn't easy and that I felt like I need some sort of experience in the healthcare setting. So it seems they already know that I don't plan to stay very long, yet they still offered me the med-tech position. I am the type of person who feels bad for not doing what others hoped for me to do. Thanks a lot for your word of advice GrnTea. I really appreciate it.
  3. I took the NCLEX RN 2 days ago only to find out that I failed by doing the Pearsonvue Trick. Instead of getting the good popup, I was sent to the credit card page I pretty much used the whole 6 hours for 265 questions. I am very upset with myself. Now I need to wait for another 45 days to retake. Which reviews should I rely more on? Saunders? Hurst? Kaplan? LaCharity? I've heard ups and downs about these nursing reviews, so I am not sure where to start again. Another issue is that I just got a call for a medical tech position and I don't know if I should take it or not. I am thinking of taking that position for some "healthcare-related" job experience since I never worked as a nurse before. Others say I should for experience while others say I shouldn't because I am going to be an RN soon. And of course if I pass the NCLEX on my 2nd try, I should be looking for an RN position. I am an ADN graduate with ZERO experience, so finding an RN position will not be easy for me and that is why I am considering the med tech position. I really don't know what to do...I am very lost. Some suggestions would be great.

  5. Hi Was the retake for TEAS V different from the first time you took it? I took the TEAS V a while back and didn't do very good on it. I was off by 0.7 points to a passing score I will be retaking the TEAS V test early February and I am extremely nervous for this retake, mainly because I am already guaranteed a spot in the nursing program...I just need to pass. The pressure from my mom isn't helping much either. Lina
  6. Hi slopes24. Did you get into the 2 years RN program or the LVN-RN bridge program? Lina
  7. Nope. I didn't get in this semester, but I will be applying for the Spring semester.
  8. Do you know how the process works? The lady over the phone told me that there will be a day where they check you off on your practical skills and that an exam will be offered on the next day.
  9. Hey guys, Did any one of you guys have take the clinical skills exam before entering the LVN-RN program? Thanks!
  10. Thanks MrChicagoRN :) The interviewers might not be calling anyone today, but I hope it's going to be a good call tomorrow!
  11. Hi. I am an LVN who is certified with IV/blood draw. I was recently interviewed for the LVN position in the hospital, per diem. During the interview, easy questions were asked, mainly because they really needed an LVN who is IV/blood draw certified to work on 2 floors. Suprisingly, the interviewer told me that very few applicants applied. So now, I am pretty much expecting their call either on Monday (today) or Tuesday. I really hope that I get that job because chances like this is rare. I was thinking if the earlier you get the call, the better the news will be. Has anyone ever experienced this?
  12. Wow, that any people dropped out? If you do happen to find out, can you let me know how many LVNs are going to be in the class for fall semester? I plan to apply for the Spring semester. Thanks! Congratulations by the way! Must be really exciting! :)
  13. I just wanted to know how many lvns are accepted into this fall semester at MJC.
  14. Congrats!! Do you know how many lvns are accepted into the MJC nursing program?
