Science on TEAS test

Hi All, I've read so many posts that stated the science portion of the TEAS test comes out of nowhere (rock formation, etc). I'm wondering if I should get a geology study guide? Anyone have any useful input, suggestions? Everyone says the study guides don't cover what is on the science portion. Thanks

I am now less stressed after reading your post. I am weak on my english verbal and Reading. Please advice on anyting that you faced today. Give me details on the grammar part. Please email me so I can ask you questions.

I have the ATI manual in my hand. You can speak to me on chat or email as well. If that is okay!

I have questions for you before you go for vacation.

Thanks!

the english, math and reading sections in the ati manual i found to very similar to the actual test. if you are using it and are doing well on the practice test in the manual you should be fine. the reading is basic. you read the paragraph and then answer questions about what you read. the english is more verb usage and punctuation such as comma and semi-colon usage etc., some spelling, when to use apostrophes, and then the synonyms and anonyms. good luck.

by any chance, did the ati online helped you?

i have heard some people say it is useless. do you think it was beneficial? what about time wise, did you get breaks?

where you short of time on math section?

for the ati manual, i already did the practice tests and i am getting 65% which is not good. do you advice i do them again and again ?

additional: i also went to this website ...chem4kids.com, what shall i concentrate since it is a big website like google.

Hi everyone

I am taking the teas test in March and I am really nervous. I was wondering how many questions are on the teas test. We have a 3 hour time frame. Is it going to take that long? I am studying the math on ATI now, but now I am nervous with everyone talking about the science part. Should I not even bother looking over the science part in the book and find it elsewhere? Thanks for the help. I like reading these threads it is helping. I am just nervous as well to start school and study for the teas test plus spending time with my kids. I just hope I dont end up going crazy. Haha

P.S. If anyone is taking the test in the next couple months and wants to review with me. That would be awesome.

also, please do not post specific questions or specific content from tests as this is a copyright infringement and could be viewed as a form of cheating. you may post general categories of information covered such as "know basic this and that"............"know metric table"............."know how to read a thermometer"........."know how to use that chart from micro"..........."be familiar with the periodic table".............."know how to convert c to f and f to c"........................all of these are o.k. post #35 above is an example of things that are appropriate to post.

we would hate for you to pass an exam only to later find out that you have been expelled from the program due to an instructor seeing posting of specific test content. you would be surprised at how many school officials (instructors, deans, etc) view this site and how easy it sometimes is to find out the identity of a member. again, we are only looking out for your best interest.

Hi everyone!! I just took the teas finally and it was way easier then I thought it was. I completely stressed out over the science portion thinking it would be very hard and it was but even me who has a very BIG weakness in science was able to do well with some brush ups. I read on here about how this person took physics in college or has done the chemistry as a pre req, but I went to an accelarated program and didn't need to do these. I was concerned as I felt the test was made for the students who have taken those classes, but I assure you all it was not. The basics? The math is difficult, and I am a straight a math student even in freshem college, so having difficulty shocked me. The science is also hard, but if you spend the time to study, you will be fine, the reading section seemed unlike the study booklet, but it was not hard. It had half the section of words and what they mean, and half stories and fix the grammar like in the book though. The english section was what i did the best at and i found easy. If you find these questions in the study book easy you will be fine. Times? I heard many times how hard it is to get done in time and was surprised i was the second one done. In the math section if you daydream, time will run out. Use the test taking rules don't change an answer unless you are positive, drink a cup of coffee before you go as studies show it helps, and stay on task. If i did this well as old as i am you will be fine. Good luck to you all.

Thanks!

Butterflygirly- do you know what version of the TEAS you took? Was it 5.0? Thanks!

Has anyone taken the teas test recently? Im taking it this friday and need help on what to expect in the science section!!!! I have the kaplan review and it so extensive ughhh PLease help!!!!Steph great memory but u think it is the same ?s every year?

I took the test last Friday, and it went better then I thought. I am awful at science and only did get a 63%, but that was better than I was getting at home. It is hard to say what is all on their, but alot of cell information, organelles, mitosis, and meiosis, really just review the heck out of your book, and do really good on the other sections, and you will do fine. I really brushed up on my math, and studied up on the English and Reading sections, and got mostly 90's in those areas, that brought my total score up to 80% overall, and that is in the Advanced range. I was shaking like a leaf when I got there, but was able to calm down once it started. Just really read the questions carefully, and answer the best that you can. I used the internet and googled different things, as I found the study guide to get really confusing! You will do great!

Thanks Lollila! I need all the help I can get!!!!!
