Science Teas Test

i just took it today! all of the tests will be a little different, but i didn't have any strange graphs. the study guide helped. also, having just had a&p i and chemistry last semester helped too. it wasn't too bad & only about 30 science questions! good luck!

Yep! Same here. 30 questions in all with maybe 5 in Anatomy. I'd say a few more than that in Chemistry. Then there were some general science ?'s ~ like someone else mentioned ~ similiar to what you might have had in 7th or 8th grade!!! Those are the ones I did the worst on!

i've heard some pretty scary stuff about the science portion of the teas test. the graphs sound impossible. is there anyway to study for these graphs? are they different graphs than what are provided in the ati study guide? :uhoh21:

okay... i do have to admit the science portion was pretty difficult for me... i only scored 73% in that section... i did great on the other sections but, the science was a whole different story... the study guide shows some of the common misconceptions for the science portion and how the questions can trick you, but really on the actual test... the problems are a whole lot more tricky than the ones in the study guide... the graphs don't have enough info to determine the answers to the question... scientific reasoning was somewhat tricky... all i have to say is that don't spend so much time studying on a&p... there was only like 2-3 questions... but, you should really review on your basic chemistry, physic, and metric conversions... hope that helps! good luck!!:wink2:

thanks for the advice. i have not taken chemistry since high school (14 years ago!) and i've never stepped foot in a physics class! guess i better surf the internet to get the basic, huh. i think heard the national average is around 67% on the science portion. i figured it was pretty tough. :uhoh21: thanks again

i am in the same situation...but actually i am a pre-nursing student...won't be taking chemistry...not sure abt physics..so just wanted to tell u that i have got chemistry for dummies just to grasp everything back...

so u can also buy it and study it...its really good book with lots of basic information of chemistry...

I just took the TEAS today and it's not that bad. I spent most of my time studying math because that's my weakness. I didn't do as well as I had wanted to on the science portion (I scored 85% overall on science), but I did so well on the rest of the test, it didn't matter so much. There were several physics questions, some chemistry, and some general science. There were only a few anatomy questions. I got 100% on the physical, chemistry, and anatomy. It was actually the general science that got me. Of course I have not had any general science in a hundred years and I panicked instead of just using my head! :) So I would suggest really studying for the parts you are weakest. I found that many of the questions I didn't know how to do, I could reason out and narrow my answers down. Much of this test is common sense and reasoning. It wouldn't have mattered how much I had studied, some of the graphs I would never have figured out. I had a study guide that was fine, but I found that this website, http://www.testprepreview.com/teas_practice.htm, was a very good source for practice. Some of the questions on the TEAS were very similar to the ones I had seen on this site. So don't sweat it. Someone else on this site told me that the TEAS would be the easiest thing I've had to do so far, and that person was exactly right. You'll do fine, just keep your head! Good Luck!

I'm taking the TEAS tomorrow at my school here in Miami. It's do or die for me I feel because if I pass i'm into the June Nursing Program which is what I want and my goal a retake means someone else will get my seat. I have studied my brain into knots with the math because that's what I super suck at but at the end of the day it seems I just needed to figure out the way my brain proccessed the math and I have the fundmentals so brushing up and going into the test armed is the best thing I could do for myself. As for the science I'm worried...it's been years since high school i'm 27 and didn't take a lick of anything but A&P in my first college go around so.....YOUTUBE made watching videos of general sciense and chem. easier then sitting down with a book. I read and re read and still am like what did I just read. Anyways I will know for sure tomorrow because mitosis and meosis aren't my friends and chemistry well I know what the periodic table is other then that....dun dun dun....Other people at my school say the test isn't so bad but this is all normal to have such high anxiety about it because like i said my getting into school in a few short weeks in on the line. I just keep saying Failure isn't an option!!!! Wish me luck Peeps!

I got 82% on the science which was my lowest subject score on the whole test, and I did NOT ever take Physics. It was really not that hard. If you do the online assessment on atitesting.com and go over the study guide, you should be fine. I didn't have that many graph questions, and they weren't that hard. I agree: know your conversions and there was also a question of converting Farehnheit to Celsius.

Hi! let me ask you...is this ATI site free??? 'cause try to register but they ask a lot of personal info and I got scared. I haven't found anything that says that I have to pay for it, but I wouldn't take the chance. :uhoh3:

Hi,

No, it's not free. You have to pay for the practice assessment, but ATI is the site where you take the TEAS test itself. When I went to take the TEAS, they required us to have had already registered with ATI. We had to bring our username and password, and then logged in and took the TEAS test through the site. You are also able to order the study guide and pay for an online practice assessment ahead of time through the site.
